The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 1050 CH is a heated ultrasonic bath with a capacity of 90.0 l, a tank measuring 600 x 500 x 300 mm, 16 vibration systems and a peak power output of 2,400 W. The unit weighs 35.9 kg and is supplied in a carton on a Euro pallet.

Tank and construction

The tank is welded from 1.4404 stainless steel and is 2.0 mm thick. The working capacity is 60.0 l, and a level mark indicates the fill level. The unit’s external dimensions are 640 x 540 x 530 mm. The drain consists of a G ½ ball valve with a 50 cm hose on the left-hand side; the handles are located on the sides. The mains cable is 2 m long and permanently attached to the unit.

Performance and heating

16 vibration systems achieve a peak power of 2,400 W at 35 kHz, with a nominal power of 600 W. The heater has a power rating of 1,950 W at 230 V and 1,050 W at 115 V; the bath temperature can be set between 20 and 80 °C. Boiling delay protection and dry-run protection of the heating are built in. The current consumption is 11.1 A at 230 V and 14.4 A at 115 V. The designated circuit must be capable of handling this load.

Functions and timer

SweepTec ensures the sound field remains free of standing waves. At the start of a run, the liquid can be degassed using DEGAS; a pulse function is also included. The display shows the remaining time and temperature. The duration can be set in increments of one minute up to 5 minutes, and thereafter in increments of 10, 15 or 30 minutes (± 5 %), or the bath can run continuously. It switches off automatically after 12 hours unless a button is pressed.

Accessories for large batches

Accessories include the K 50 C insert basket (545 x 450 x 50 mm, mesh size 5 x 5 mm, up to 10 kg) with the D 1050 C lid, as well as the K 50 CS basket (530 x 445 x 50 mm, mesh size 12.5 x 12.5 mm, up to 40 kg) with the D 1050 CS lid. The K 50 CA and K 50 CV baskets hold nine full-face masks and six full-view masks respectively. Also available are the KW 50 B-0 hanging tray (520 x 445 x 284 mm), the UG 75 stainless steel base frame on four height-adjustable feet, the TW 75 transport trolley and the FT 45 film test frame (550 x 585 mm) for testing the bath.

The SONOREX DIGITEC DT 1028 CH has a capacity of 45 l, eight vibration systems and a peak power of 1,200 W in a tank measuring 500 x 300 x 300 mm. The DT 1058 M has a capacity of 46 l, also 16 vibration systems and 2,400 W, but no heating. The DT 1050 CH is suitable for users who require both a large volume and a heated liquid.
