IKA C-MAG HS 7 control, magnetic stirrer with heating, ceramic hotplate, 0020002694
Thermodynamic infrared transmission and amorphous ceramic matrix The introduction of extremely high thermal energy into chemical reaction systems requires material architectures that are thermophysically resistant to massive temperature gradients. The IKA C-MAG HS 7 control utilises a monolithic base plate made of glass-hard, amorphous industrial ceramic (180 x 180 mm). This microstructured ceramic plate is not only characterised by absolute chemical inertness towards highly corrosive acids, halogens and bases, but also acts as an excellent infrared transmitter. With a massive heating capacity of 1,000 watts, the system generates surface temperatures of up to 500 °C. The thermal energy is not primarily transferred via pure heat conduction, but is coupled deep into the glass matrix of the reaction vessel with a high proportion of infrared radiation. This minimises thermodynamic latency and enables extremely rapid heating rates for high-boiling-point solvents or melt digestion. Electromagnetic kinematics and rheological trend metrology The physical mixing of structurally viscous fluids up to a macroscopic volume of 20 litres requires a constant, slip-free torque. The system generates a strong alternating electromagnetic field that continuously synchronises the stirring rod within the medium at speeds of 50 to 1,500 revolutions per minute. The electronic motor control compensates for rheological resistance in real time. A fundamental analytical function of this cybernetic model is the measurement of the relative torque trend. The system measures the electromagnetic phase shift induced by changes in the fluid’s viscosity during molecular polymerisation, cross-linking or crystallisation processes, and displays this vector change directly on the high-resolution LCD display. System cybernetics and hardened interface architecture To protect the electronic control unit in toxic or highly corrosive laboratory environments, the entire user interface is isolated behind a monolithic, chemically resistant sheet of real glass (hardened glass). Thermodynamic control within the medium is achieved via a PID cascade control system directly coupled to the supplied PT 1000 temperature sensor, thereby physically eliminating thermal overshoot. An independent, hardware-based safety circuit (continuously adjustable from 100 to 650 °C) and the IKA SmartTemp ® optical warning system guarantee absolute occupational health and safety by warning of latent infrared residual heat from the ceramic matrix, even after the primary power supply has been disconnected. Technical Details Thermodynamics & Heating Technology Heating power: 1000 W Heating temperature range: room temperature to 500 °C Base material: Amorphous industrial ceramic (monolithic) Base dimensions: 180 x 180 mm Heating rate control: Anticipatory PID control (with external PT 1000) Heating plate setting and display resolution: 5 K Setting and display resolution for the medium (via probe): 1 K Temperature control accuracy (with PT 1000 in the fluid): ± 0.5 K Heating rate (1 litre of H₂O in H 1500): 5 K/min Metrology & Control Engineering Viscosity measurement: Relative torque trend measurement (Torque Trend) Timer function: Integrated, cybernetically controllable Temperature sensor interface: PT 1000 (DIN) for ETS-D5 / ETS-D6 or direct connection Sensor failure detection: Error 5 (Sensor in Medium Detection) Cybernetic interface: High-contrast LCD beneath tempered real glass Kinematics & Mechanics Speed range: 50 – 1,500 rpm Motor power input / output: 9 W (mechanical transmission) Speed deviation (under rated load): ± 2 % Maximum stirring volume (based on H₂O): 20 litres Maximum stir bar length: 80 mm (minimum 30 mm) Reversible direction of rotation: Yes, programmable interval operation Safety & environmental conditions Hardware safety circuit: Adjustable from 100 to 650 °C Residual heat indicator: IKA SmartTemp ® (Hot Top Indicator) Permissible ambient temperature range: 5 – 40 °C Permissible relative humidity: max. 80 % Protection class (according to DIN EN 60529): IP 21 Infrastructure, Electrical & Connectivity System dimensions (W x H x D): 220 x 88 x 354 mm Weight: 4.0 kg Voltage / Frequency: 220 – 230 V / 50/60 Hz Power consumption: 1020 W (standby: 2 W) Data interfaces: USB and RS 232 (for firmware updates and LIMS/labworldsoft ® connection) Scope of delivery 1 x IKA C-MAG HS 7 control magnetic stirrer 1 x PT 1000.80 temperature probe (stainless steel) 1 x IKAFLON ® magnetic stirring bar 1 x USB cable and mains lead (Important note: Support rods and sleeves for vertically securing the PT-1000 probe at the centre of the flow vortex are not included in the scope of delivery!) Customised requirements & accessories The C-MAG HS 7 control is a high-performance thermodynamic instrument that achieves its control precision solely through the exact positioning of the sensor system. To complete the PID control loop, the supplied PT-1000 probe must be positioned freely within the liquid phase. For this purpose, vertical locking using an IKA support rod (H 16 V) and cross-shaped sleeve (H 44) is essential. If the probe comes into contact with the hot vessel wall, this would distort the cybernetic control loop. For highly corrosive media that attack stainless steel, we recommend switching to the glass-sheathed PT 1000.70 probe. Please contact our procurement service at any time for the thermodynamically correct configuration.

IKA T 25 digital LR disperser, for laboratory reactors, 2000 ml, 0020008820
Fluid dynamics precision in closed reactor systems In chemical process engineering, the synthesis of nanoparticles and the production of complex pharmaceutical emulsions, the scale-up from the laboratory to the pilot phase requires absolute control over phase distribution. Conventional, open dispersion processes in beakers inevitably lead to the ingress of atmospheric oxygen (oxidation) due to vortex formation and to the uncontrolled loss of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The IKA T 25 digital LR disperser (the abbreviation “LR” stands for laboratory reactor) is specifically designed for high-precision high-shear dispersion in hermetically sealed, temperature-controlled and evacuated reactor systems. Powered by a robust 800-watt high-performance motor, this drive unit handles process-relevant volumes ranging from 1 to 2,000 millilitres (based on the physical viscosity of water). The unit thus bridges the critical process engineering gap between initial formulation development on a millilitre scale and simulated industrial production. Thermodynamics and cavitation in the rotor-stator principle The breakdown of stubborn agglomerates and the disruption of viscous liquid droplets (emulsification) requires the massive, localised application of kinetic energy. The T 25 digital LR operates with a continuously and electronically adjustable speed range from 600 up to a staggering 25,000 revolutions per minute. In combination with the specific IKA dispersing tools, immense circumferential speeds of over 22 metres per second are generated at the outer edge of the rotor. The radial acceleration of the media into the extremely narrow shear gap between the rotating element and the stationary stator generates immense hydrodynamic shear forces, high-frequency pressure fluctuations and physical cavitation effects. Particles and droplets are broken down into microscopic primary sizes in the low micrometre range within milliseconds. The thermal energy inevitably generated by molecular friction can be dissipated in a controlled manner in a professional reactor system via external cooling jackets, in order to protect thermolabile analytes from denaturation. Vacuum compatibility and specific reactor geometry The key design difference between the T 25 digital LR and conventional laboratory homogenisers is its physical and geometric system integration. The unit is mechanically engineered to be precisely coupled with IKA’s specialised KD-LR (laboratory reactor) dispersion tools. These specialised tool shafts feature high-quality, high-vacuum-compatible mechanical seals made of FFPM and PTFE. In this configuration, the drive enables high-speed dispersion under a system vacuum of up to 50 mbar. Evacuating the reactor whilst active dispersion is taking place prevents the formation of disruptive aerosols and foam in media containing surfactants, completely rules out the oxidative degradation of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and guarantees the production of absolutely bubble-free, highly viscous gels or creams. Furthermore, the LR tools are designed with an extended length to penetrate deep into the reaction vessels (such as the LR 1000) and fully capture even minimal dead volumes at the bottom of the reactor. Scalability and rheological behaviour of multiphase systems A fundamental problem in the dispersion of non-Newtonian fluids is the change in rheological properties under sustained shear stress (structural viscosity). Thanks to its precise energy input, the IKA T 25 digital LR enables the exact investigation of these phenomena directly within the reactor. During the production of solid suspensions, the stator breaks down the electrostatic van der Waals forces responsible for agglomeration. In liquid-liquid systems, the turbulent flow prevents the coalescence of droplets until added emulsifiers physically stabilise the interfacial tension. Digital process control and electronic safety mechanisms To ensure complete reproducibility in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP), the T 25 digital LR is equipped with an LED display for continuous monitoring of the actual speed. An integrated microprocessor continuously adjusts the power output. If the viscosity of the medium increases due to polymerisation setting in during the reaction, the electronics maintain the speed absolutely constant despite the growing hydrodynamic resistance. To protect the hardware, the drive features multi-stage overload protection. Should the rotor become suddenly blocked in the shear gap, a physical current limiter intervenes immediately, switching off the motor and issuing an error code. This prevents thermal damage to the motor windings and guarantees the longevity of the laboratory infrastructure. Technical details Product type: High-shear disperser for laboratory reactors Volume range (H₂O): 1 – 2,000 ml Motor power (input/output): 800 W / 500 W Speed range: 600 – 25,000 rpm (electronically continuously variable) Speed display: Digital (LED) Max. permissible viscosity of the medium: 5,000 mPa·s Noise level (without dispersing tool): 75 dB(A) Operating principle: Rotor-stator technology (high shear forces / cavitation) Vacuum compatibility: The system is designed for vacuum operation when used in combination with KD-LR tools Process reliability: Electronic speed control maintains a constant speed despite changes in viscosity Motor protection: Electronic overload protection and current limiting with error code output Permissible duty cycle: 100% (continuous operation) Dimensions (W x H x D): 87 x 271 x 106 mm Arm length / arm diameter: 160 mm / 13 mm Weight: 2.5 kg Protection class (to DIN EN 60529): IP 20 Permissible ambient temperature: 5 – 40 °C Contents 1 x IKA T 25 digital LR drive unit (800 W, for laboratory reactors) 1 x mains lead for IT equipment 1 x Comprehensive operating instructions (Important note: The essential KD-LR series dispersing tool, stands and the laboratory reactor itself are not included in the scope of delivery!) Individual requirements & accessories The T 25 digital LR is a drive motor only. To operate the system in your laboratory reactor (such as the IKA LR 1000), you must have a suitable dispersing tool designed for a physical vacuum seal (for example, the IKA S 25 KD - LR - 25 G). For a safe and vibration-free setup, you will also need a stand solution, unless the unit is mounted directly onto the reactor stand. Please contact our procurement service at any time for a fluid-dynamically precise design of your rotor-stator geometry and its integration into your reactor system.

IKA ROCKER 3D basic shaker, tilting shaker, 0004000000
The IKA ROCKER 3D basic shaker is a specialised laboratory system solution designed for the gentle, three-dimensional mixing of sample media in molecular biology, haematology and clinical laboratories. When preparing cell cultures, performing DNA extractions, immunoblots or tissue staining, continuous, homogeneous wetting of the sample surface without mechanical stress is the decisive factor for reproducible experimental results. This highly efficient tumbler generates a constant, three-dimensional tumbling motion at a precisely defined angle of inclination. For laboratory managers and industrial procurement departments, the instrument offers maximum reliability and process stability in daily routine operations thanks to its robust construction and suitability for unattended continuous operation. Kinetics and mixing behaviour of the three-dimensional motion The mechanical operating principle is based on mathematically optimised tumbling kinetics, which induce a uniform, wave-like movement of the sample material. The fixed tilt angle of 7° and a constant speed of 30 revolutions per minute ensure efficient mixing with minimal foam formation. This is particularly essential when working with sensitive proteins or delicate cell suspensions in Petri dishes, culture flasks or reaction vessels. The precise mechanical guidance prevents uncontrolled acceleration peaks, allowing the liquid to rise evenly up the vessel walls without spilling over. Structural strength and continuous operating limits The mechanical structure of the ROCKER 3D basic is designed for a maximum shaking load of up to 2 kilograms. The robust drive concept ensures a permissible duty cycle of 100 per cent, enabling fault-free operation in incubators or cold rooms within a temperature range of 4 °C to 50 °C. The material properties of the housing guarantee high resistance to abrasive disinfectants and chemical agents. The non-slip rubber mat included in the scope of delivery reliably prevents the sample vessels from sliding around on the shaking platform, even at maximum load. Ergonomic integration and operational reliability The housing design complies with protection class IP 21 and effectively protects the internal winding assembly from vertically falling dripping water and mechanical impacts. The operation has been deliberately designed to be minimalist and fail-safe: a robust toggle switch controls the start-stop process directly on the front of the unit, which prevents operating errors in multi-user environments. The compact dimensions of 280 × 165 × 330 millimetres allow for space-saving integration on confined work surfaces or within biosafety workbenches, without restricting the logistical flexibility of the laboratory infrastructure. Technical details Shaking & Drive Technology Shaking motion: 3D (tumbling) Fixed tilt angle: 7° Max. shaking weight (incl. attachment): 2 kg Fixed speed: 30 rpm Permissible duty cycle: 100% (continuous operation) Design & Dimensions Dimensions (W x H x D): 280 x 165 x 330 mm Weight: 2.2 kg Protection class according to DIN EN 60529: IP 21 Permissible ambient temperature range: 4 – 50 °C Permissible relative humidity: 80 % Electrical specifications Voltage: 100–240 V Frequency: 50/60 Hz Power consumption: 16 W Power supply output voltage: 24 V DC Contents 1 x IKA ROCKER 3D basic shaker base unit 1 x non-slip rubber mat 1 x plug-in power supply unit for universal power supply 1 x user manual Individual requirements & accessories To ensure flexible use of the IKA ROCKER 3D basic shaker, we offer a selection of optional shaking mats and mounting adaptors. IKA S 50 N - G 45 G - ST mixing tool, sawtooth design, 0008039500
The IKA S 50 N - G 45 G - ST dispersing tool represents a high-purity and extremely powerful fluid-mechanical system solution for the professional comminution, homogenisation and suspension of demanding sample media on a laboratory and pilot-plant scale. This precision-manufactured rotor-stator system has been specifically validated for use with the high-performance IKA dispersing drives of the ULTRA-TURRAX T 50 series. In complex processes within the pharmaceutical processing industry, food analysis, biotechnology or pulp research, the disruption of viscous, fibrous or elastic sample structures is the primary criterion for producing homogeneous suspensions in a material-friendly and time-efficient manner for subsequent analytical steps. Fluid-mechanical comminution via sawtooth geometry The process-engineering heart of the tool is the generator in a special ST (Saw Tooth) design. The distinctive geometry of the saw teeth on the rotor and stator generates extremely high mechanical impact, cutting and shear forces in the transient shear gap. This mechanical kinetics is ideally designed to cut and disintegrate fibrous matrices – such as tissue structures, plant parts, tobacco, paper and wood pulps, as well as tough plastics or viscous emulsions – in a flash. Uncontrolled wrapping of fibres around the shaft is prevented by the flow-optimised tooth arrangement, ensuring gentle handling of the material and process reliability. Material-related inertness and uncompromising sterilisability The materials science design of the dispersing rod is consistently optimised for maximum chemical resilience and absolute freedom from contamination. All functional elements in contact with the medium are made of high-purity, stainless steel grade 1.4404 (AISI 316L). The shaft is supported by an extremely low-friction and wear-resistant PTFE bearing system. This combination of materials allows for continuous use in aggressive acids, alkalis and organic solvents. To ensure a sterile sampling environment and to completely rule out cross-contamination in multi-user operations, the entire assembly can be easily sterilised in an autoclave or cleaned gently with standard disinfectants without damaging the material. Process reliability and convenient system integration The mechatronic system architecture guarantees safe and vibration-free power transmission even at maximum speeds of up to 10,000 revolutions per minute. The dispersing shaft can be quickly secured in the T 50 digital drive via the standardised connection without the need for tools. Thanks to the generous immersion depth of up to 250 mm and the fluid-mechanical geometry, the tool is certified for a wide working volume ranging from 0.5 to 20 litres (based on water). This offers laboratory managers and industrial users maximum flexibility when scaling up processes from research to pilot plant scale. Technical details Metrology & Dispersion Specifications Tool type: Rotor-stator dispersing tool Model designation: S 50 N - G 45 G - ST Operating range (volume range for H₂O): 0.5 to 20 litres Generator design: G (Coarse) with ST geometry (sawtooth) Maximum speed range: 10,000 rpm Maximum peripheral speed: approx. 18.8 m/s Design, materials & geometry Materials in contact with the medium: Stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L), PTFE Stator diameter: 45 mm Rotor diameter: 36 mm Shear gap (distance): approx. 0.5 mm Minimum immersion depth: 70 mm Max. immersion depth: 250 mm Shaft diameter: 30 mm Overall length: 290 mm Operating conditions & cleaning Solvent resistance: Yes (universal chemical resistance) Cleaning: Autoclavable (up to 121 degrees Celsius) and hot-air sterilisable (up to 180 degrees Celsius) Bearing type: PTFE plain bearing (shaft-guided, low-maintenance) Contents 1 x IKA S 50 N - G 45 G - ST dispersing tool (MPN: 0008039500) 1 x Operating instructions / Quality certificate Important note: The required dispersing drive (e.g. IKA ULTRA-TURRAX T 50 digital), stand fixtures, cross-sockets and sample vessels are not included in the standard scope of delivery and must be configured separately. IKA S 25 N - 25 F Dispersing tool, fine, PTFE bearings, 100–2000 ml, 0001713800
The finest particles for the most demanding applications: the IKA S 25 N – 25 F The IKA S 25 N - 25 F (MPN 0001713800) is a high-performance dispersing tool specially developed for applications where particularly fine particle sizes are required. Compatible with the drive units of the IKA T 25 series (e.g. T 25 digital, T 25 easy clean), this tool transforms your disperser into a precision instrument for demanding emulsification and suspension tasks. It covers a working range from 100 ml to 2,000 ml (H₂O), making it the ideal all-rounder for medium-sized laboratory batches. The “F” makes all the difference: rotor-stator geometry for fine results At IKA, the designation “F” stands for “Fine”. In contrast to the standard version (“G”=“Coarse”), this tool features a specially designed rotor-stator geometry with narrower slots and smaller clearance dimensions. This results in higher shear rates and more intensive mechanical processing of the sample. The result is significantly smaller particle sizes and more stable emulsions. This makes the S 25 N - 25 F ideal for the production of creams and lotions in cosmetic development, the homogenisation of dairy products, or the fine grinding of fibrous samples that have already been pre-ground. PTFE bearings (“N”) for universal resistance The “N” in the model designation indicates the type of bearing used: high-quality PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is employed here. PTFE bearings are characterised by their excellent chemical resistance to almost all acids, alkalis and solvents. They also minimise heat build-up in the bearing area. Note: Tools with PTFE bearings are ideal for liquid applications, but must never be run dry, as the bearing is lubricated and cooled by the medium. Running the bearing dry would destroy it immediately. Material Quality and Hygiene All parts in contact with the medium are made from high-quality stainless steel (AISI 316L). This material is not only extremely corrosion-resistant but also meets the high hygiene requirements of the pharmaceutical and food industries. The tool is designed for operating temperatures of up to 180 °C and can be easily dismantled for cleaning and sterilisation. It is compatible with all standard sterilisation methods – including autoclaving (wet sterilisation) – which guarantees sterile operation in microbiological applications. Easy handling and maintenance Thanks to its standardised shank design, the S 25 N - 25 F can be mounted quickly and securely onto T 25 drives. Cleaning is straightforward thanks to its well-thought-out design: the tool can be dismantled into its individual parts in just a few simple steps to remove all residues and reliably prevent cross-contamination. Technical data Compatible drives: IKA T 25 digital, T 25 easy clean (digital/control) Working range (H₂O): 100 – 2,000 ml Stator diameter: 25 mm Rotor diameter: 18 mm Version: F = Fine Bearing: N = PTFE bearing Material (in contact with the medium): Stainless steel (AISI 316L), PTFE Max. temperature: 180 °C Sterilisation methods: All (including autoclaving) Generator gap: 0.5 mm Immersion depth: 40 – 165 mm Screw-in shaft: Yes Contents 1 x IKA S 25 N - 25 F dispersing tool Operating instructions (often included in the drive’s manual or supplied separately) Individual requirements & accessories Do you require tools for larger volumes, cutting tools (S 25 N – 25 G) for coarse pre-shredding, or special ceramic seals (‘K’ series) for vacuum applications? IKA S 25 KD - LR - 25 G dispersing tool (for laboratory reactors), 0025007321
The IKA S 25 KD - LR - 25 G is a specialised dispersing tool designed primarily for use in IKA laboratory reactors (LR series). The distinctive feature of this tool lies in its geometric design: it has an extended shaft (267 mm installation length), which allows for deeper immersion into reactor vessels. This is crucial for ensuring efficient homogenisation even at low liquid levels or with small sample volumes, without the reactor needing to be filled to the brim. KD design for vacuum and cleaning The abbreviation “KD” stands for a special sealing and bearing design that allows operation under vacuum down to 100 mbar. This makes the tool ideal for processes where air ingress must be avoided or which take place under reduced pressure (e.g. degassing during dispersion). At the same time, the KD design enables tool-free disassembly: the rotor can be easily removed, which considerably simplifies cleaning and sterilisation (wet chemical or autoclave) and prevents cross-contamination. Material quality and FDA compliance All parts in contact with the product are manufactured from high-quality materials: stainless steel (AISI 316L), PTFE and FFPM. This combination not only ensures high chemical resistance (pH 2–13) and suitability for use with solvents, but also meets the strict requirements of the FDA. IKA S 18 N - 10 G dispersing tool, Ø 10 mm, L004639
The IKA S 18 N - 10 G dispersing tool is a specialised, materials-science-optimised system component designed for precise rotor-stator dispersion in the millilitre range. Designed for use with the high-performance laboratory dispersers of the ULTRA-TURRAX T 18 series, this dispersing shaft enables highly efficient sample preparation of biological, pharmaceutical and chemical media. In applications such as the disruption of tissue cells, the emulsification of cosmetic formulations or the suspension of poorly soluble active ingredients in laboratory vessels, the precise fluid-dynamic geometry of this tool prevents thermal stress on samples and ensures complete homogenisation. For laboratory managers and procurement officers in industrial research facilities, the tool offers the highest level of validity and process reliability in accordance with stringent GLP and GMP guidelines. Rotor-stator kinetics and process-related shear dynamics The mechanical operating principle is based on the tried-and-tested rotor-stator system, in which the inner rotor moves within the fixed stator at extremely high rotational speeds of up to 25,000 revolutions per minute. Due to the small radial gap between the rotor and stator, the sample medium is drawn axially into the dispersion head and then forced radially through the slots of the generator with enormous kinetic energy. The combination of extremely high shear forces, turbulent shear fields and transient cavitation effects guarantees particle and droplet size reduction down to the micrometre range. The 10 G generator is characterised by an optimised tooth geometry, which enables rapid primary fragmentation of fibrous, tough or cellular sample structures across an extended volume range. Material resilience and sterilisation cycles The material-specific system limits of the dispersing tool are defined by the consistent use of high-quality stainless steel (material number 1.4404 / AISI 316L) and a robust PTFE bearing. This material composition ensures outstanding chemical resistance to aggressive acids, alkalis and organic solvents, and gently prevents metallic cross-contamination in multi-user operations. A crucial criterion for molecular biological and microbiological applications is the tool’s unrestricted sterilisability: the entire dispersing tool is fully autoclavable at 121 °C and can be hot-air sterilised up to 180 °C, thereby guaranteeing an absolutely germ-free sample handling process. Ergonomic design features and working area The mechanical design features a stator diameter of 10 millimetres and a shaft length of 108 millimetres, enabling reliable operation in various reaction vessels and laboratory glassware. The working range covers a sample volume of 1 to 100 millilitres, allowing flexible sample series to be processed efficiently whilst minimising material wastage. Thanks to the shaft’s easy removability, the tool can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly after use, significantly speeding up the laboratory’s workflow and minimising downtime. Individual requirements & accessories For the IKA S 18 N - 10 G dispersing tool to operate as intended, a drive unit from the IKA ULTRA-TURRAX T 18 series (e.g. T 18 digital) is required. To physically prevent abrasive wear of the internal PTFE bearings during dry running, the tool must always be immersed sufficiently deep into the sample medium (min. 20 mm) before switching on. In the event of long-term material fatigue, we stock suitable PTFE replacement seals and manufacturer-approved maintenance kits in our range. Please use our procurement service to select your laboratory peripherals.
