Macherey-Nagel VISOCOLOR Fish Analysis Kit, 933101
The VISOCOLOR Fish test kit has been specially developed for the analysis of fishing waters. It combines reagents and accessories for the six most important water parameters in a single kit: ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, pH and total hardness. Six key parameters for water quality Anyone wishing to assess fishing waters cannot afford to ignore these six parameters: ammonium, nitrate and nitrite indicate nitrogen loading and thus, indirectly, the condition of the fish population; phosphate indicates nutrient inputs and algal growth; whilst pH and total hardness provide the basic data for almost any further hydrological assessment. With a single kit, the most important parameters for a fisheries water assessment can be covered directly on site, without having to put together several individual tests. Use in fish farming, club waters and water monitoring Whether monitoring an aquaculture pond, carrying out a routine check by an angling or fishing club on its own waters, or taking a random sample as part of official water monitoring: the kit provides the key parameters needed to identify pollution issues at an early stage, before they endanger fish stocks. As all the tests can be carried out without an additional photometer, the kit can be used directly at the water body – without a power supply or sensitive additional equipment. Ready for immediate on-site use The kit includes a case, test kits, accessories and instructions – results are interpreted purely visually by colour comparison. The reagents have a shelf life of 1.5 years from the date of manufacture and should be stored at 15–25 °C to ensure that results remain reliable throughout their entire service life. Macherey-Nagel VISOCOLOR School Analysis Kit, 933100
The VISOCOLOR SCHOOL analysis kit brings hands-on water analysis straight into the classroom: all the reagents included are approved in accordance with the GUV regulations for handling hazardous substances in the classroom (GUV-SR 2004) – pupils can therefore carry out the experiments themselves without teachers having to intervene at every step. A safe introduction to water analysis for the classroom Whether in chemistry, biology or geography lessons: water analysis is an integral part of many curricula when it comes to topics such as water quality, nutrient inputs or ecosystems. The VISOCOLOR SCHOOL analysis kit makes such experiments suitable for everyday use – for example, when analysing water samples from a nearby stream, pond or lake as part of a field trip, or directly in the classroom using samples brought in by the pupils. As the reagents comply with GUV-SR-2004, even younger pupils can carry out titrations and evaluate colour comparisons themselves under supervision. Ammonium and pH – two parameters of high educational value The kit covers the determination of ammonium (range 0 / 0.2 / 0.5 / 1 / 3 mg/L NH₄⁺) and pH (range 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.0 / 7.0 / 8.0 / 9.0). Both parameters are ideal for teaching pupils fundamental concepts: ammonium as a classic indicator of organic pollution and nutrient inputs into water bodies, and pH as a key parameter for virtually any chemical and biological analysis of water. The kit includes a case, test kits, accessories and instructions – ready to use for your next lesson. Ready for immediate use without a photometer Analysis is carried out purely visually by colour comparison, without the need for an additional photometer. This significantly lowers the barrier to entry for schools and other educational institutions with limited equipment and enables several groups to work simultaneously – each group with its own test kit, without a single measuring device becoming a bottleneck. Cost-effective refills Once the supplies have run out, there’s no need to buy a whole new kit: an affordable refill pack is available if required.
