Restek Electronic Leak Detector for Gas Chromatography, Carrying Case and Mains Adapter, 28500
The Restek leak detector is an electronic handheld instrument for gas leak detection in GC systems. It detects a wide range of gases, including helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and CO2, and shows the severity of a leak with an audible tone and an LED display. The battery lasts up to 12 hours between two charges, and charging is via USB or with the universal mains adapter.Display and gas typesThe instrument reports a leak in two ways. A tone indicates audibly, and an LED display visually, how severe the leak is. Both signals reflect the severity, so a leak that has been found can be classified. Anyone who is not looking at the display can rely on the tone, and anyone who cannot hear the tone can rely on the LED.A wide range of gases is detected. These include helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and CO2. With this instrument, hydrogen can only be searched for in trace amounts and in a non-flammable environment. The leak detector is not intended for leaks in a flammable environment, for which a combustible gas detector is to be used.Handheld instrument, battery and probeThe leak detector is an ergonomic handheld instrument with robust side grips. The probe unit is easy to clean, and the instrument has a convenient holder for the probe. An automatic shut-off ends operation by itself.The operating time is up to 12 hours between charges, and operation is also possible while charging. Anyone planning a longer search can therefore let the instrument keep running on mains power or on the USB charging cable. For charging, a 6 ft USB charging cable (about 1.8 m) and a universal mains adapter are included. The mains adapter is designed for the regions USA, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Japan. The instrument is supplied in a carrying case.Leak detector and flowmeter comparedBoth instruments belong to the Restek measurement technology for gas chromatography, but solve different tasks. The leak detector finds and assesses leaks. The ProFLOW 6000 flowmeter, by contrast, measures the volume flow of gases between 0.5 and 500 mL/min with an accuracy of ±2 % of reading or ±0.2 mL/min, whichever is greater. The ProFLOW 6000 runs on two AA batteries, the leak detector on a battery that is charged via USB or mains adapter. Both instruments are handheld devices with side grips, and both switch off automatically. Restek ProFLOW 6000 Electronic Flowmeter, 0.5 to 500 mL/min, 22656
The ProFLOW 6000 is an electronic flowmeter for gases. It measures the volume flow in the range of 0.5 to 500 mL/min and is used to measure gas flows in gas chromatography. The calibration is NIST-traceable, meaning it is traced back to standards of the American National Institute of Standards and Technology. The instrument runs on two AA batteries, outputs data via a USB port and comes in a hard-shell case.Measuring range and accuracyThe measuring range extends from 0.5 to 500 mL/min. The accuracy is ±2 % of the flow reading or ±0.2 mL/min, whichever is greater. This results in a threshold at 10 mL/min: below it, the fixed component of ±0.2 mL/min determines the deviation, above it the percentage. At 100 mL/min it is ±2 mL/min, at 500 mL/min ±10 mL/min. Humid or aggressive gas flows therefore do not belong on this instrument. If a flow lies outside the measuring range, the ProFLOW 6000 shows an out-of-range warning.Handling, power supply and data outputThe ProFLOW 6000 can be used as a benchtop or handheld instrument. The ergonomic housing has side grips. Two AA batteries power the instrument and are included. The batteries are thus already part of the scope of delivery. An automatic shut-off function switches the instrument off by itself. Data output runs via the USB port. The Rxi-PAH is a GC capillary column for the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The phase is proprietary, of medium polarity. This version is 40 m long, with an inner diameter of 0.18 mm and a film thickness of 0.07 µm.Dimensions and analysis timeThe narrow inner diameter and the thin film stand for faster analysis with excellent separation of important PAHs. The sample capacity is correspondingly lower. The Rtx-5ms has a stationary phase of 5 % diphenyl and 95 % dimethyl polysiloxane, crosslinked on fused silica. It is 30 m long, with an inner diameter of 0.25 mm and a film thickness of 0.25 µm. The column is tested to strict specifications for low column bleed and high inertness.Polarity, USP and equivalentsThe polarity matches the Rtx-5, and column bleed is lower. The phase is listed under the USP designations G27 and G36. Restek Inlet Liner for Shimadzu, Straight, Standard Deactivation, with Wool, 3.5 mm ID, 5 Pieces, 20956
The straight inlet liner 20956 is intended for Shimadzu GCs of the types 17A, 2010, 2014 and 2030. It is made of borosilicate glass, has standard deactivation and contains deactivated glass wool. The pack comprises 5 liners.Construction and dimensionsThe liner is straight and therefore has the same cross-section over its entire length, without a taper. The inner diameter is 3.5 mm, the outer diameter 5.0 mm and the length 95 mm. This gives a wall thickness of 0.75 mm. The volume is 0.914 mL. The liner is made of borosilicate glass, and the inlet type is split/splitless. The deactivation is the standard version, and the liner contains deactivated glass wool. The wool is therefore already inserted and does not have to be ordered separately. Deactivation refers to the treatment of the glass surface so that analytes adhere to it less. The micropacked GC column 19001 carries a Molesieve 5A packing with 80/100 mesh. The tube is 2 m long, with an inner diameter of 1.00 mm and an outer diameter of 1/16 inch. The temperature range is stated as -60 to 330/350 °C.Micropacked instead of conventionally packedMicropacked columns achieve higher efficiency than conventionally packed columns and have a higher capacity than PLOT columns. Restek MXT-1 GC Metal Capillary Column, 15 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.10 µm, 70105
The MXT-1 70105 is a metal capillary column with a non-polar phase of crosslinked dimethyl polysiloxane. It has a length of 15 m, an inner diameter of 0.25 mm and, at 0.10 µm, the thinner of the two films available in the shop. The tube is made of stainless steel with a Siltek coating.Metal tube with Siltek coatingThe MXT-1 is a Siltek-coated stainless steel capillary column (WCOT). It combines the strength of metal with the inertness of glass. The coils have the standard diameter of 4.5 inch.The phase is a non-polar, crosslinked dimethyl polysiloxane. The USP phase classes are G1, G2, G9 and G38. Known comparable phases from other manufacturers are Agilent DB-PS1 and Quadrex UAC-1 and UAC-1MS.Temperature rangeThe column can be used from -60 °C. 360 °C is permitted isothermally and 430 °C in a temperature program. The limits are the same as for the 0.25 µm version 70120, and the range from -60 °C allows low starting temperatures in a program.Dimensions and temperature dataThe 15 m describes the capillary tube, 0.25 mm the inner diameter and 0.10 µm the thickness of the phase film on the tube wall. Crosslinked means that the polymer chains of the phase are linked.
