Clearance stock: electronic leak detector for gas chromatography, including carrying case & universal mains adapter, 28500
The Restek electronic leak detector (MPN 28500) is the recognised industry standard for performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness in portable leak detection devices for gas chromatography. In instrumental analysis (GC and GC-MS), an absolutely leak-tight flow path is essential for stable baselines and reproducible results. This compact, portable device is extremely easy to use and can be deployed flexibly wherever gas-carrying systems need to be checked for leaks. It helps analysts to locate even the smallest gas leaks quickly and accurately before they cause costly damage, column degradation or unplanned system downtime. The technical basis of the leak detector lies in highly efficient sensor technology that reliably detects a wide range of gases. If a leak occurs at a screw connection, the injector or the gas purification stations, the device simultaneously signals the severity of the leak via a visual LED display and an audible alarm. A major advantage for uninterrupted laboratory operation: the system eliminates tedious waiting times for a full battery charge. The integrated nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery provides up to 12 hours of normal operation between charging cycles, but can also be operated continuously whilst charging if required. The mechanical design is consistently geared towards ergonomics, durability and everyday convenience in the laboratory. The hand-held design is complemented by robust side handles, which give the device additional mechanical stability and a non-slip grip. To prevent cross-contamination and protect the sensor, the entire probe unit is easy to clean. After measurement, a practical probe storage compartment ensures cleanliness and protection. Furthermore, the device features an integrated automatic switch-off function that optimises battery power management when not in use, thereby preserving the battery’s life. From an infrastructural and regulatory perspective, this leak detector – designed exclusively for indoor use – is comprehensively certified. It meets strict international compliance requirements such as CE, WEEE, China RoHS 2 and UKCA, and is CSA/UL-approved. The device is supplied as a turnkey complete set, including a robust transport and storage case and a comprehensive charging kit. It is technologically comparable to the older Restek models 22655 and 22839 and can be seamlessly integrated into existing test equipment set-ups. Restek provides a one-year warranty on this system. Remaining Rxi-PAH GC capillary column, 40 m, 0.18 mm ID, 0.07 µm, #49316
Description: The Rxi-PAH GC columns have been developed by Restek using a stationary phase with a higher phenyl content, which offers unique selectivity for the separation of key polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) relevant to food safety that cannot be distinguished by mass spectrometry. Even difficult priority compounds such as PAH4, as defined by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), can be easily separated and accurately quantified – results that cannot be achieved with conventional GC columns. The arylene modification and surface bonding of the stationary phase enhance thermal stability and robustness, enabling the routine analysis of relatively low-volatility, higher molecular weight PAHs without interference from column bleeding. The column’s excellent efficiency means it can be trimmed many times for maintenance purposes without losing critical PAH separations, including those used in environmental methods and food safety testing. Owing to its selectivity and efficiency, the Rxi-PAH column is ideally suited to the EFSA’s PAH4 analysis; the separation of chrysene/triphenylene and the resolution of all benzofluoranthenes are easily achievable. Item No.: Description 49316: Narrower internal diameter, thinner film, faster analysis, excellent separation of key PAHs, lower sample capacity 49317: 0.25 mm internal diameter, better sample capacity, highest resolution of key PAHs, longer analysis time than the 0.18 mm column, thin film enables elution of dibenzopyrenes 49318: 0.25 mm internal diameter, higher sample capacity, faster analysis time than the 60 m column, adequate resolution of key PAHs, more cost-effective column Features & Benefits: - Ideal for EFSA PAH4 analysis – separates all priority compounds: benz[a]anthracene, chrysene, benzo[b]fluoranthene and benzo[a]pyrene .- Optimal separation of chrysene from interfering PAHs, triphenylene and cyclopenta[cd]pyrene. - Complete separation of benzo[b]-, [k]-, [j]- and [a]-fluoranthene .- Thermal stability from 40 to 360 °C enables the analysis of low-volatility dibenzopyrenes. Restek Rtx-5MS Low-Bleed GC capillary column, 30 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 µm, #12623
Description: Rtx-5MS columns are coated with a 5 % diphenyl/95 % dimethylpolysiloxane phase and are tested to strict specifications for low column bleed and high inertness. They have the same polarity as the Rtx-5 columns, but exhibit lower column bleed. Rxi-5Sil MS columns are coated with a silarylene phase, which has a polarity similar to that of a 5 % diphenyl/95 % dimethylpolysiloxane phase; however, the phenyl rings in the polymer chain of the silarylene phase provide improved thermal stability and lower column bleed. The Rxi-5Sil MS column is the ideal choice for analysis according to EPA Method 8270 for semi-volatile pollutants. The slight difference in selectivity of Rxi-5Sil MS columns also improves the separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), such as benzo[b]- and benzo[k]-fluoranthene isomers. Features & Benefits: - General-purpose columns for pharmaceuticals, solvent contaminants, pesticides, hydrocarbons, PCB congeners (e.g. Aroclor mixtures), essential oils and semi-volatile compounds. - The column has been specifically tested for low column bleed.- Temperature range: -60 °C to 350 °C .- Equivalent to USP G27 and G36 phases .- Integra pre-columns are also available for some sizes – a pre-column and an analytical column in one, to eliminate connection problems! minutes before opening the ampoule. As each ultrasonic bath operates at a different energy level, 60 minutes is only a guideline. A longer sonication time has no effect on product quality. These precautions also apply to working solutions prepared in your laboratory. The amount of compound precipitated depends on the concentration and temperature. If you store your standards, including diluted solutions, at a temperature significantly below that recommended on the label, allow for a longer sonication time. †Note: In this standard, fluazinam should only be used for qualitative analysis. ‡This reference material contains both the Spinetoram J and L isomers (187166-40-1 and 187166-15-0); however, the certificate states CAS No. 935545-74-7, as this refers to the pure material dissolved in the solution. CAS No. 935545-74-7 is a mixture of Spinetoram J and L, and the proportion of each isomer is shown on your certificate of analysis. **This reference material contains Spinosad A and D isomers (131929-60-7 and 131929-63-0); however, the certificate states CAS No. 168316-95-8, as this refers to the pure material dissolved in the solution. Description: Efficient, inert and flexible . Micro-packed columns are highly efficient and offer good sample capacity, making them a powerful tool for solving many challenging application problems. The unrivalled inertness of SilcoSmooth capillaries is due to Siltek deactivation, which allows the column to be bent and coiled without causing spalling or cracking of the inert surface. Easy to install. Multiple internal diameters . Our micropacked columns are suitable for packed and capillary injection systems. Micropacked columns with standard walls (1/16-inch OD) offer improved efficiency in instruments designed for packed columns without the cost of converting to capillary injection systems. Micro-packed columns with a smaller outer diameter (0.95 mm OD) can be easily fitted into a capillary injector, using slightly larger ferrules. Micro-packed columns operate at flow rates of more than 10 cc/min for trouble-free operation. Braided-wire end caps Restek’s packed column experts insert a braided wire into the column and secure it at the column outlet using a small crimp. The end caps are treated with Siltek; the sample comes into contact only with inert surfaces. Restek Force Biphenyl, 1.8 µm, 100 x 2.1 mm LC column, 9629212
Description: Force Performance LC columns are the result of more than 20 years’ experience in liquid chromatography and are characterised by their durability and reproducibility, even under the stresses of UHPLC. Their first-class quality is backed by our 100 per cent satisfaction guarantee. And perhaps most importantly: Force columns are fully scalable between 3 or 5 µm HPLC and 1.8 µm UHPLC, allowing you to easily transfer and optimise methods without extensive calculations. Use Force LC columns for all your HPLC and UHPLC instrument platforms. The innovative biphenyl phase is Restek’s most popular stationary phase, as it is particularly well suited to the separation of compounds that are difficult to dissolve or that elute early on C18 columns and other phenyl phases. Biphenyl columns are therefore extremely useful for bioanalytical testing applications such as drug and metabolite analyses, particularly those requiring a mass spectrometer (MS). Increasing the retention of early-eluting compounds can limit ionisation suppression, and the enhanced selectivity helps to avoid the need for complex mobile phases that are not well suited to MS detection. - Stationary phase category: Phenyl (L11) - Ligand type: Biphenyl- Particles: 1.8 µm, 3 µm or 5 µm fully porous silica- Pore size: 100 Å- Carbon loading: 15 %- End-capping: yes – Surface area: 300 m²/g – Recommended applications: – pH range: 2.0–8 .0 – Maximum temperature: 80 °C – Maximum pressure: 1034 bar/15,000 psi* (1.8 μm), 600 bar/8,700 psi (3 μm); 400 bar/5,800 psi (5 μm) * For maximum service life, the recommended maximum pressure for 1.8 μm particles is 830 bar/12,000 psi. Residue Fragrance Allergen Standards Kit, 33105
Description: To protect consumers with allergies, the 7th Amendment to the European Cosmetics Directive stipulates that finished cosmetic products and personal care products must state whether they contain excessive amounts of any allergen from a list of 26 compounds. Of these 26 compounds, 24 are volatile chemicals that can be identified by GC-MS analysis, and Version 3 of the method described by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) serves precisely this purpose. This specially formulated reference standard kit exceeds IFRA’s purity requirements and contains all 24 fragrance allergens defined by the EU that can be detected by GC-MS, as well as seven further potential allergens. When analysed on a Restek Rxi-17 column using the IFRA method, all the desired compounds and isomers are clearly resolved without co-elutions. This time-saving mixture is also incredibly robust and has a shelf life of over one and a half years, allowing you to keep a pre-prepared standard in stock rather than preparing a new batch for each analysis. Whether you manufacture fragrances in Europe, sell to European consumers or simply wish to test for allergens in your products, choose the reference standard mixture that helps you comply with the IFRA methodology in a practical, long-lasting formulation. Description: Analyse oxygen, nitrogen, methane, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide using a single column at room temperature. The ShinCarbon ST material, a carbon molecular sieve with a large surface area (~1,500 m²/g), is the ideal medium for the separation of gases and highly volatile compounds using gas-solid chromatography (GSC). These columns enable rapid analysis at temperatures above ambient. The excellent thermal stability of the high-surface-area carbon, combined with careful conditioning during column manufacture, ensures operation with low column bleed and rapid stabilisation when a new column is installed. Customised ShinCarbon ST columns are available on request. ShinCarbon ST is an extremely stable material. Its upper programmed temperature limit of 300 °C minimises column bleed and baseline drift, making the material compatible with most detection systems used in gas analysis, including TCD or HID. Restek Stabilwax GC capillary column (60 m, 0.32 mm ID, 1.00 µm), 10657
The Restek Stabilwax (MPN 10657) is regarded as the de facto standard amongst polar wax columns and is characterised by its exceptional thermal stability within an otherwise sensitive class of stationary phases. Based on a cross-linked polyethylene glycol (PEG), this column utilises a proprietary polar-deactivated surface that binds the Carbowax polymer more firmly than conventional methods. The result is a ‘Crossbond’ phase that is not only mechanically robust against repeated water injections but also exhibits minimal column bleeding even under aggressive temperature programmes up to 260 °C. Phase stability and reproducibility For the chromatographer, the Stabilwax’s unique binding mechanism means one thing above all: consistent retention times. The ‘shifting’ of polar compounds often observed with wax phases is eliminated here. This makes the column the first choice for validated methods in FAME analysis, the determination of flavour compounds or the purity testing of solvents (e.g. xylene isomers), where retention time stability over weeks and months is critical. Durability and regeneration A key technical advantage of Crossbond technology is the possibility of regeneration. Should the separation performance decline due to non-volatile matrix residues, the Stabilwax can often be restored by solvent rinsing. It covers a wide range of applications, from the analysis of alcoholic beverages to critical environmental parameters such as acrolein/acrylonitrile (according to EPA 603), and offers equivalence to USP phases G14, G15, G16, G20 and G39. Technical details Phase: Stabilwax (cross-linked polyethylene glycol / PEG) Length: 60 m Inner diameter (ID): 0.32 mm Film thickness (df): 1.00 µm Temperature range: 40 °C to 250/260 °C Polarity: Polar USP equivalents: G14, G15, G16, G20, G39 Similar phases: HP-INNOWax, CP Wax 52 CB, VF-WAX MS, ZB-WAXplus Material: Fused silica (quartz glass) Contents Restek Stabilwax GC capillary column (60 m x 0.32 mm x 1.00 µm) Test chromatogram (batch-specific) Customised requirements & procurement service Are you looking for a Stabilwax-DA for the analysis of free fatty acids, or do you require Integra-Guard variants with an integrated pre-column to protect against matrix interference? Restek Topaz Single Taper Inlet Liner for Shimadzu GC, 3.5 mm x 5.0 mm x 95 mm, pack of 5, 23336
The Restek Topaz Single Taper Inlet Liner represents a truly premium-class gas chromatography system solution for reproducible sample injection and residue-free vapourisation in capillary gas chromatography (GC). When analysing trace components in complex sample matrices in environmental, food, pharmaceutical or forensic laboratories, the injection system is the most critical interface. Undesirable adsorption effects or thermal degradation of sensitive analytes on active surfaces must be prevented in a manner that is gentle on the material and ensures process reliability. Thanks to the groundbreaking Topaz deactivation technology, this liner offers unrivalled chemical inertness. Designed for split and splitless operation on Shimadzu gas chromatographs, this consumable guarantees the highest validity of measurement results, minimises peak tailing and maximises signal-to-noise ratios even with labile compounds. Geometric flow dynamics and sample focusing The physical design of this liner is based on a precisely calculated single-taper geometry at the lower end. This taper acts as a fluid-dynamic barrier that focuses the expanding sample vapour directly onto the head of the capillary column. This effectively blocks any transient backflow of the sample vapour mixture (backflash) towards the injection head or septum. A precisely positioned portion of high-purity quartz wool is also placed at the lower end of the liner. This quartz wool fulfils a dual function: it serves as a mechanical filter for non-volatile matrix components to protect the column, whilst simultaneously increasing the hot surface area to force the instantaneous and homogeneous evaporation of liquid droplets. Topaz Premium deactivation for uncompromising inertness The material-science cornerstone of the Restek Topaz Liner is the state-of-the-art chemical deactivation process carried out in the gas phase. In conventional glass liners, free silanol groups on the quartz glass surface can trigger irreversible adsorption or catalytic degradation reactions of analytes such as pesticides, phenols or amines. Topaz Premium deactivation completely blocks these active sites and creates a high-purity, inert passivation layer. Every production batch undergoes strict quality controls and is tested using sophisticated probe molecules. For laboratory managers and analytical specialists, this means a drastic reduction in system failures and extended maintenance intervals for GC injectors. Precise system compatibility and laboratory integration The dimensions – 3.5 mm internal diameter, 5.0 mm external diameter and 95 mm total length – are precisely matched to the geometric tolerances of Shimadzu injection systems. The liner ensures a perfect fit in split/splitless injectors and prevents leaks in the carrier gas flow. Supplied in a practical, contamination-protected pack of five, it ensures rapid availability for routine replacement as part of preventative quality management. Our chromatography range includes suitable Viton O-rings for standard applications as well as high-temperature-resistant graphite seals for demanding thermal profiles. To safeguard your sample chain, we also recommend the regular replacement of the injection septum (e.g. Restek Thermolite septa) and the use of ultra-pure carrier gas filters to permanently prevent the ingress of moisture or oxygen into the GC system. Remnant Rt-Q-BOND PLOT column 30m, 0.32mm, ID, 10 µm, #19744
Description: Porous polymers are specialised stationary phases with high retention for a wide range of applications, capable of eluting both polar and non-polar compounds. They are highly hydrophobic, meaning that water has no effect on retention times and even elutes as a good chromatographic peak. Q-BOND is our strongest non-polar and most widely used porous polymer column; the polarity can be increased by incorporating functional groups (e.g. QS-, S- and U-BOND). The manufacturing process for PLOT columns with porous polymer results in the particles being strongly bonded to the capillary walls, meaning that virtually no particles are released. The result is reproducible performance from column to column, including selectivity and flow rate. Re-wrapping the PLOT columns is not recommended, as this may cause particles to detach from the capillary wall. Features & Benefits: - Non-polar PLOT column containing 100% divinylbenzene.- Ideally suited for the analysis of C1 to C3 hydrocarbons, as well as isomers and alkanes up to C10 .- High retention of CO₂ simplifies gas analysis; CO₂ and methane are separated from O₂/N₂/CO. (Note: O₂/N₂/CO are not separated at ambient temperature.) - Suitable for the analysis of oxygen-containing compounds and solvents .- Maximum temperature of 300 °C .- A cross-reference list for GC column phases is also available.
