Anyone who fills or dispenses small quantities of flammable solvents in the laboratory needs a container that can be opened in a controlled manner without spilling anything whilst pouring. The stainless steel safety jug meets this need with three sizes ranging from 1 to 5 litres. A self-closing precision dispenser releases only the required amount, whilst a pressure relief valve keeps the internal pressure within a safe range during storage.Precision dispenser instead of spilling and drippingThe precision dispenser sits on the jug’s 1 1/4-inch external thread and opens only as far as is actually required to dispense the liquid. Once released, it closes automatically, leaving the remaining liquid in the container. Pressure equalisation begins at around 0.3 bar, ensuring that no excess pressure is suddenly released when the dispenser is opened. This eliminates the need to weigh out small portions from a larger container and reduces the risk of spilling anything whilst decanting.Explosion protection in the filler neckA removable flame arrestor is fitted in the filling nozzle and prevents a source of ignition outside the canister from backfiring via the vapour space. The stainless steel safety container with a tap provides a solution for 10- and 25-litre capacities: a self-closing tap dispenses the liquid in small quantities, whilst a pressure relief valve maintains the internal pressure within a safe range during storage.Tap for dispensing small quantities from large containersThe tap is situated on the side of the container and can be opened without having to tip or lift the entire container. It closes automatically after dispensing.
