The IKA mini G is an extremely compact and user-friendly mini centrifuge designed for ‘Quick-Spin’ (short centrifugation) of samples directly at the laboratory workstation. It is the ideal solution for molecular biology applications (e.g. PCR reactions) or the rapid pelletisation of micro-samples. Extremely simple operation for fast results For procurement professionals who prioritise efficiency, the ease of use of the IKA mini G is a key advantage: there are no complicated settings. The centrifuge operates at a fixed speed of 6000 rpm (2000 xg), which is ideal for most micro-applications. Operation starts automatically when the lid is closed and stops via a ‘Quick-Stop’ in under 2 seconds as soon as the lid release button is pressed. Versatile thanks to two rotors included Unlike many other mini centrifuges, the IKA mini G is supplied as a complete package. The scope of delivery already includes two rotors, enabling versatile use: Microtube rotor: For 8 x 1.5 mL or 2.0 mL reaction tubes (e.g. Eppendorf tubes). PCR strip rotor: For 16 x 0.2 mL individual PCR tubes or 2 x 8-well PCR strips. Compact and safe design With its minimal footprint, the IKA mini G saves valuable space on the laboratory bench or in the fume cupboard. The transparent lid allows for constant visual monitoring of the samples. For safety reasons, the centrifuge will only operate when the lid is securely closed. The IKA G-L is a high-performance and versatile midi centrifuge designed for general laboratory use. It bridges the gap between small microcentrifuges and large bench-top centrifuges and is ideal for sample volumes of up to 50 mL (e.g. Falcon tubes). High performance and precise control With a maximum speed of 15,000 rpm and a resulting RCF of up to 15,596 xg (Feature), the G-L is ideally suited to demanding separation tasks, such as cell pelletisation, DNA/RNA extraction or sample preparation for analysis (Benefit). Control is via a clear digital display, through which speed, RCF and time can be precisely set. Maximum flexibility thanks to rotor options The IKA G-L is supplied as a basic unit (without a rotor). (Feature) This offers specialist buyers maximum flexibility: Depending on the application, the centrifuge can be fitted with a high-speed angle rotor (e.g. for 12 x 15 mL tubes) or a swing-out rotor (e.g. for 4 x 50 mL Falcon tubes) (Benefit). Automatic rotor detection prevents the installed rotor from exceeding its maximum speed. Safety in everyday laboratory work The centrifuge features all the necessary safety features for modern laboratory operation. These include an electromagnetic lid lock (which prevents the lid from opening during operation), automatic imbalance detection and a ‘Quick-Stop’ function that brings the rotor to a rapid halt.
