The service comprises the operation and provision of a digital e-commerce platform (online shop) for the sale of laboratory equipment, laboratory supplies and laboratory furnishings. The offering is aimed primarily at business customers (B2B) from the fields of research, industry, medicine and science. This service is offered exclusively digitally via the internet on the website https://lt-laborhandel.com/ (including all subpages and the shop area) and can be accessed from any location using common web browsers.

Explanations on How the Service Is Provided

The digital platform presents customers with a comprehensive, specialised product range from laboratory technology, including categories such as balances, measurement technology, laboratory refrigeration, temperature control units and consumables.

The offering can be used in a largely barrier-free manner entirely via the web browser of the end device (PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone). Users can find out about products via the integrated search function or a categorised navigation structure (mega menu). Detailed technical specifications, descriptions and images are available on the individual product pages. Selected products can be placed in a virtual shopping cart and purchased via a multi-stage, purely digital ordering process ("checkout"). In addition, customers can use digital forms to contact customer service, request quotations or subscribe to a newsletter.

We are committed to digital accessibility and pursue the goal of designing our website in such a way that it is fully accessible to all users. We are therefore working continuously to fully implement the requirements of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) and of the Ordinance on the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSGV).

This website and the online shop are partially compliant with the requirements of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) and with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA.

In order to actively implement digital accessibility and to ensure a barrier-free shopping experience, we use the certified assistive system "Barrierefrei Hilfswerkzeuge" (accessibility tools), including the Premium Upgrade. Via a customisable control icon embedded in the shop, visitors can adapt the storefront to their individual needs in real time.
The following measures and technical assistive tools are fully implemented in the shop:

  • Integrated read-aloud function: users can have the content and product descriptions of the online shop read aloud to them directly via an integrated audio tool.
  • Profile selection according to individual needs: the shop offers predefined filters and profiles that optimise the design and functionality for specific user groups at the click of a button, including:
    • Visual impairment & colour blindness
    • Dyslexia (activation of special, reading-friendly fonts)
    • ADHD & cognitive learning
    • Motor impairments
    • Seizure and epilepsy disorders (safe visual environment)
  • Extended text and layout settings: text sizes, line spacing height and character spacing can be adjusted continuously and individually in order to significantly increase legibility.
  • Visual adjustments & contrasts: the contrast ratios of the storefront can be switched flexibly. In addition, hyperlinks and interactive elements can be explicitly highlighted for better recognisability.
  • Extended orientation & reading guidance: an interactive reading aid (reading guide) can be activated for visual support. In addition, detailed short information (tooltips) can be displayed and the appearance of the mouse pointer can be adjusted.
  • Keyboard navigation & accessible theme: the platform supports full navigation by keyboard (e.g. using the tab key). The underlying storefront templates are structurally optimised for compliance with WCAG 2.1 in order to guarantee error-free interpretation by external screen readers.
  • Control of dynamic content: users can pause automatic animations and moving elements at any time in order to minimise visual stimuli.
