The bimos Fin is a sit-stand stool for workstations where work is done standing up, for example at raised tables in the laboratory or in research. An ordinary chair does not suit the working height there, and standing for long periods is tiring. For this reason the Fin has an extra-wide comfort seat on a gas spring, which can be adjusted steplessly between 620 and 850 mm. The seat takes up part of the body weight, while the feet stay on the floor. The Fin is available with a black, blue or grey seat.

Sit-stand stool instead of a chair

A sit-stand stool lies between standing and sitting. On the Fin, you lean against the seat and keep working standing up. According to the manufacturer, 60 % of the body weight then rests on the seat and no longer on the legs and feet. The base column is tilted forwards by 4°. According to the manufacturer, this keeps the user in a slightly forward-leaning, active working posture. The footprint of the frame measures 525 x 335 mm and therefore remains small.

Stepless seat height adjustment

The seat height ranges from 620 to 850 mm, and the adjustment range is 230 mm. It is adjusted at the handle under the seat, without tools. The self-supporting safety gas spring yields slightly when you sit down and cushions the weight. If several people share a workstation, each of them readjusts the height at the handle.

Comfort seat with handles and rotation

The seat is made of soft SoftTouch PU foam and is extra wide. Two comfort handles are integrated into the sides of the seat surface. They help with sitting down, leaning and standing up. The Fin can also be held, pulled and carried by them. The seat rotates by 20° each to the left and to the right. According to the manufacturer, this extends the radius of action, for example when moving between the table and the apparatus.

Seat surface made of integral foam

Integral foam is often also called PU or polyurethane foam. According to the manufacturer, the surface is resistant, robust, washable and easy to clean, and it also withstands pointed and sharp-edged objects. The manufacturer describes the integral foam as suitable for environments with moisture, oils, greases, mild acids and alkalis, and disinfectants. Which cleaning agents and disinfectants are suitable in an individual case should be clarified before use.

Frame and glides

The frame is made of aluminium with a brilliant silver coating. Interchangeable glides made of felt and plastic are included in the scope of delivery and can be fitted depending on the floor type. The three seat colours black, blue and grey (basalt grey) differ only in colour. The frame, dimensions and features are the same.

Excluded are wear parts such as upholstery, cover materials, foam parts made of integral foam and frame surfaces. The warranty conditions apply to Germany. Is the Fin available as an ESD version?
