The DURAN ® Erlenmeyer flask, with a volume of 5000 ml (5 litres), is the ideal vessel for scale-up processes, the production of larger quantities of media or the storage of solutions on a pilot scale. Despite its size, it retains the tried-and-tested conical shape in accordance with DIN ISO 1773, which enables effective mixing whilst simultaneously reducing the risk of spillage thanks to the narrow neck.

Maximum safety for large volumes

Mechanical stability and thermal resilience are crucial, particularly with a 5-litre capacity. Manufactured from high-quality DURAN ® borosilicate glass 3.3, this flask ensures an extremely uniform wall thickness. This makes it resistant to impacts and thermal shocks – whether when heated on large stirring plates or during autoclaving (121 °C / 134 °C). The reinforced flared rim provides additional break resistance in the sensitive neck area.

Precision and documentation

Quality standards must be maintained even in large-format products. The flask features a Retrace Code, which enables seamless batch traceability (certificate available online). The large-area scale, made of fired white ceramic, aids in volume estimation, whilst the labelling field allows for permanent identification of the 5-litre batches.
