Modular magnetic stirring system with four drives

The IKA MIXSTER Set 4 is a multi-position magnetic stirrer with four drives. According to the datasheet, each stirring position handles 5 ml to 5 l (H₂O) at 100 to 3,000 rpm and viscosities up to 500 mPas. With additional IKA MIXSTER stirring units (accessory, item no. 0020112621), the system can be extended to up to 30 stirring positions. The positions can be controlled separately or simultaneously (leader-follower principle). The supplied power supply is designed for up to four devices; depending on the number of devices, a different power supply may be required.

Operation and degree of protection IP 66

The 360° LED glass display conveys all information without an alphanumeric readout. It shows either the speed or the stirring power, so changes in viscosity can be followed as a percentage. The speed is set with a tap button. With the integrated vessel detection, stirring also starts when the vessel is placed on the unit or touched. The reverse function changes the direction of rotation at definable intervals, and interval operation can be set from 6 s to 30 min. IP 66 allows cleaning under the tap and operation in an incubator up to 40 °C. A USB interface is optional.

Individual requirements & accessories

With the MIX.IX multi-position stirring attachment, the drive becomes a magnetic stirrer with 9 stirring positions for sample vessels of 8 to 60 ml. The MIX.VX shaker attachment turns the magnetic drive into a vortex or orbital shaker. The attachments are not included.
