The KERN CCS 6K-6 (MPN CCS 6K-6) is not just a simple weighing device, but a highly professional counting system. Anyone who needs to accurately count large quantities of tiny small parts during stock-taking, in production or when picking orders often faces a problem: high-capacity scales are too imprecise for individual items, whilst high-precision scales cannot support heavy boxes. The KERN CCS counting system elegantly resolves this conflict by combining two specialised scales.

The two-scale principle

The system consists of two interconnected components:

1. The reference balance (high-precision): This high-resolution counting balance (on a table) is used to determine the weight of a single, tiny part (reference weight) with absolute precision.
2. The bulk scale (robust & heavy-duty): Place the large box or container containing the parts to be counted (up to 6 kg total weight) on this platform scale (e.g. on the floor or a low table).

The system calculates the exact number of parts in a fraction of a second, using the precise individual weight from the reference balance and the total weight from the bulk balance. The result: no more counting errors for screws, sealing rings, electronic components or plastic injection-moulded parts.

Convenient operation for fast working

The entire system is controlled centrally via the reference balance’s terminal:

• 3 displays: You can see the total weight, the reference weight and the total number of items at a glance at all times. No hidden menus.
• Numeric keypad: For quick manual entry of known tare weights (crates, pallets) or reference weights.
• PLU memory: Store up to 100 items (including reference weight and tare deduction). Ideal for recurring counting tasks.
• Fill-to-Target (target count function): Programme a desired quantity (e.g. 500 screws per bag). The system emits an audible and visual signal as soon as the target value is reached.

Robust industrial quality

The quantity scale features a durable stainless steel weighing plate and an aluminium load cell, designed to withstand the rigours of everyday industrial use. Via the standard RS-232 interface, you can easily connect the system to a KERN printer or a PC to print piece count labels or stock-take reports.
