The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 1028 is the 28-litre bath in the DIGITEC range without a heating element. The tank measures 500 x 300 x 200 mm; eight vibration systems operate at 35 kHz with a peak power of 1,200 W, and the current consumption is 1.4 A at 230 V.

Designed without a heater

The DT 1028 has neither a heating element nor a temperature preset. Consequently, it lacks the heating element’s boil-dry protection and dry-run protection; the list of functions includes a pulse function, SweepTec, DEGAS rapid degassing and an automatic shut-off 12 hours after the last button press. If you wish to heat the bath fluid, take a look at the heated DT 1028 H, which features the same bath and 1,300 W of heating power.

Tank and dimensions

Inside, the tank measures 500 x 300 x 200 mm and is made from 1.0 mm thick 1.4301 stainless steel. The housing is made from the same material. The total capacity is 28.0 l, the working capacity 19.0 l, and there is a fill level mark. Externally, the unit measures 535 x 325 x 400 mm and weighs 14.0 kg. The G ½ ball valve is located on the left-hand side of the drain; a hose connector and hose are supplied.

Ultrasonic treatment and operation

The sound field is generated at 35 kHz with a peak power of 1200 W and a rated power of 300 W. SweepTec prevents standing waves. The DEGAS function degasses the liquid at the start of the cleaning process. The wipe-clean buttons allow you to select 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (± 5 per cent) or continuous operation; the display shows the remaining time. The handles are located on the sides; the 2-metre power cable is permanently attached.

Which size is right for you?

With just under half the capacity, the SONOREX DIGITEC DT 514, at 13.5 l, is a suitable option. The DT 1028 CH is larger, with a capacity of 45 l, and also features a 1,450 W heater. The DT 1028 is suitable if a 28-litre tank is required and the bath fluid does not need to be heated.

Accessories

The DT 1028’s range of accessories includes the K 28 hanging basket (455 x 245 x 50 mm, mesh size 5 x 5 mm, load capacity up to 10 kg), the D 1028 lid and the GH 28 equipment holder. The K 29 EM immersion basket (470 x 240 x 45 mm, mesh size 4 x 4 mm) requires the KT 30 basket support, whilst the SM 29 silicone studded mat is available in a pack of two. The range also includes the KW 28-0 hanging tray, the ES 4 insert cups with insert strips for four cups, the UG 40 base frame and the TW 40 trolley.
