Not every cleaning task requires heat; indeed, some cleaning agents and materials do not tolerate it well. The Bandelin SONOREX SUPER RK 1028 C operates without heating and instead features a welded tank made from high-alloy stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L). With a total capacity of 45 litres and a working capacity of 30 litres, this ultrasonic bath is one of the larger models in the SUPER-RK series and, like all units in the range, is classified as a Class I medical device in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
Robust tank for continuous operation without heating
The 1.4404 grade is molybdenum-alloyed and is therefore generally more resistant to chlorides and more aggressive cleaning agents than the standard 1.4301 grade, from which the other unheated SUPER-RK models, such as the RK 1040, are manufactured. The tank is welded rather than drawn and has a thickness of 2.0 mm, twice that of the standard RK 1028 H model. On the ultrasonic side, the RK 1028 C delivers a peak power of 2,000 watts and a nominal power of 500 watts at 35 kHz, distributed across ten vibration systems. The SweepTec function operates fully automatically to counter standing waves in the acoustic field, whilst an additional pulse function briefly increases the energy output to tackle more stubborn dirt.

The 1028 series and alternatives in the range
If you additionally need heating, the RK 1028 CH with an identical tank offers the heated version with the same tank material. If the standard 1.4301 tank is sufficient, the RK 1028 H with the same volume and heating is the more cost-effective alternative. For smaller batches without heating, Bandelin also offers the RK 510 with a capacity of 9.7 litres and the RK 1040 with a round tank and a capacity of 39.5 litres. In addition to the SONOREX range, we also offer ultrasonic baths from Elma, for example with switchable dual-frequency technology, for applications where a fixed frequency of 35 kHz is insufficient.
Use and maintenance
The tank is filled to a working capacity of 30 litres; the total volume of 45 litres refers to the tank filled to the brim without the items to be cleaned. The ball valve on the drain, specified in the data sheet as G 1/2 inch on the left-hand side of the unit, is used for draining and changing the cleaning medium. The insert basket and lid are not included in the scope of delivery; for the RK 1028 C, the K 28 C or K 28 CS baskets are suitable, with the corresponding lids D 1028 C or D 1028 CS respectively. Cleaning concentrates for the SONOREX series can be purchased separately. The power cable is 2 metres long and permanently attached to the unit; operation is possible with either 230 V or 115 V.
