With a total capacity of 58 litres and a working capacity of 41 litres, the Bandelin SONOREX SUPER RK 1050 is the largest model in our current SUPER-RK range. It operates without a heating element and features a welded tank made from high-alloy stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L), a material otherwise only used in the 1028-C/CH variants, though here in a significantly larger size. Like the other units in the series, the RK 1050 is classified as a Class I medical device in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745.

Sixteen vibration systems for large-volume cleaning

At 35 kHz, the RK 1050 achieves a peak power of 2,400 watts and a nominal power of 600 watts, distributed across 16 vibration systems in the base of the tank, more than any other model in the range. The automatic SweepTec function modulates the acoustic field and prevents standing waves, ensuring that the cavitation effect remains uniform even across the large tank surface area of 600 x 500 mm. The tank is 2.0 mm thick, and the housing is made from the standard material 1.4301. A pulse function briefly increases the energy output for heavily soiled items.

Selection guide: Batch size and tank material

With a working capacity of 41 litres, the RK 1050 significantly outperforms both the RK 1040 (28 litres) and the 1028 model (up to 30 litres). Those who do not require this capacity but still wish to have the more durable 1.4404 tank will find the RK 1028 C, with a total capacity of 45 litres, to be the smaller alternative made from the same tank material. For those who require a heater in addition to a smaller volume, this combination is available in the RK 1028 CH. A heater is not available for the RK 1050; this model is only available in the range as an unheated version.

The 1050 in the SUPER-RK family and our range

Bandelin’s SUPER-RK series covers volumes ranging from less than one litre for the RK 31 up to 58 litres for the RK 1050, with or without a heater, and with either a standard or a 1.4404 tank. For applications requiring a digital display or touchscreen operation, Bandelin offers the DIGITEC DT and smart ST series, although these are currently only available in smaller sizes. In addition to Bandelin, we also offer ultrasonic baths from Elma; their Elmasonic P series utilises switchable dual-frequency technology, offering an alternative for laboratories that do not wish to clean continuously at 35 kHz.

Operation and maintenance

The tank is filled to a working capacity of 41 litres; the total volume of 58 litres refers to the tank filled to the brim without any load. The ball valve on the drain is used for emptying; according to the data sheet, this is a G 1/2-inch connection on the left-hand side of the unit. The K 50 insert basket and the matching D 1050 C lid are available as accessories but are not included in the scope of delivery. Due to its net weight of 30.0 kg and gross weight of 56.3 kg, the RK 1050 is dispatched in a carton on a Euro pallet; the power cable is 2 metres long and permanently fitted.
