Brand Transferpette S Single-Channel Pipette, variable, 100-1,000 µl, DE-M, 705880

When transferring culture medium for cell culture runs of different sizes, the volume needed varies between a few hundred microlitres and one millilitre depending on vessel size. The Brand Transferpette S variable D-1000 covers 100-1,000 µl with an increment of 1 µl, without having to keep a separate device for every amount.

Continuously adjustable with 1 µl increment

The Transferpette S variable 100-1,000 µl (model D-1000) covers the volume range 100-1,000 µl in steps of 1 µl. The volume is set with a dial without tools, and a lockable position (UNLOCK/LOCK) prevents accidental adjustment during serial work. To match the volume range, Brand recommends the pipette tip size 50-1,000 µl. In total, the variable Transferpette S series comprises ten volume sizes from 0.1 µl to 10 ml, so a suitable model from the same range can be combined for almost every working range. One range smaller is the Transferpette S variable 20-200 µl (D-200, MPN 705878). One range larger follows the Transferpette S variable 0.5-5 ml (D-5000, MPN 705882).

Accuracy according to DIN EN ISO 8655

Tested according to DIN EN ISO 8655 at three volume levels: at the full nominal volume, the pipette achieves an accuracy A of up to ±0.6 % and a coefficient of variation CV of up to 0.2 %, at half the nominal volume ±0.8 % and 0.3 % respectively, and at the lower end, at one tenth of the nominal volume, ±3 % and 0.6 % respectively. The three test points show that the accuracy decreases towards the lower end of the volume range, an effect that occurs with every piston-operated pipette and should be taken into account when choosing the suitable model. The DE-M marking confirms the testing under German weights and measures law. The accuracy A describes the deviation of the average dispensed volume from the target value, and the coefficient of variation CV the scatter of several repetitions at this volume.

Tool-free adjustment with Easy Calibration

The Easy Calibration function allows readjustment directly on the pipette, without tools, using an adjustment slider under the label window with volume offset. A changed factory setting becomes visible through a red adjustment slider in the display window.

Fully autoclavable

For sterile applications, the pipette can be autoclaved fully assembled, as a complete unit, at 121 °C and 2 bar, with a holding time of at least 15 minutes according to DIN EN 285, and dismantling is not required.

Variable or fixed: which design fits

Culture vessels of different sizes need different amounts of medium, for which the variable Transferpette S D-1000 is suitable. If the same vessel format is always supplied with the same amount, a Transferpette S Fix from the same range offers simpler operation. For the D-1000 with its range of 100-1,000 µl, the specific working step therefore decides whether variable or fixed is the more suitable design.
