LAUDA Puridest PD 8 R Water Distiller, Single-column Distiller, L003015
The LAUDA Puridest PD 8 R water distiller is a highly advanced thermal system solution for the fully automated production of high-purity, sterile and pyrogen-free ultrapure water (mono-distillate) in clinical, pharmaceutical and university laboratory settings. In demanding analytical processes, reagent preparation or microbiological cell culture applications, the consistent removal of inorganic salts, organic impurities and microbial organisms is the primary criterion for gently eliminating interference effects in instrumental analyses. This fully automatic compact system delivers an excellent distillate conductivity of approx. 2.3 µS/cm at 25 °C and, with a continuous production rate of 8 litres per hour, ensures a self-sufficient supply of ultrapure water. For laboratory managers and procurement officers, this integrated system architecture offers the ideal combination of on-demand media storage and exceptional process reliability in accordance with stringent GLP and GMP guidelines, thanks to the generous 16-litre storage tank. Thermodynamic separation process and ultrapure water quality The distillation-based operating principle of the Mono distillation unit is founded on the classic, physically unrivalled phase transition of raw water into the vapour phase, followed by condensation. Through boiling in the precisely temperature-controlled distillation flask, non-volatile impurities, heavy metal ions and particulate matter are retained in the sump. A key fluid dynamics-related quality feature is the integrated CO₂ degassing port on the condenser, which reliably separates volatile acidic gases such as carbon dioxide to prevent any subsequent drop in the pH of the distillate in the storage tank. The integrated condenser is installed as a robust cooling coil directly within the storage tank and guarantees highly efficient enthalpy exchange with minimal thermal losses. Cooling efficiency and automated resource management The thermodynamic kinetics of the LAUDA Puridest PD 8 R are characterised by intelligent, energy-optimised media management. The cooling water used for condensation – which is heated in a way that is gentle on the material – is routed directly to feed the distillation flask (boiler). This energy-efficient circulation drastically reduces the required nominal thermal output of the 6 kW tubular heating elements and minimises the overall CO₂ footprint of laboratory operations. To conserve valuable raw water resources, an integrated solenoid valve controls the water supply fully automatically: once the storage tank is completely filled, the system instantly shuts off the cooling water supply, thereby avoiding unnecessary idle consumption whilst preserving the material. Materials Science System Integrity and Sensors The physical boundaries of the apparatus are defined by a double-walled, powder-coated housing made of galvanised sheet steel, which offers outstanding thermal insulation and mechanical resilience. All functional components in contact with samples and steam – such as tubular heating elements, the distillation flask, the storage tank and the condenser – are made of high-purity, stainless steel. This material-science-based quality feature prevents metallic cross-contamination and facilitates cyclic descaling via the easily accessible distillation flask. Cybernetic monitoring is carried out via an electronic contamination control system with automatic distillation stop and visual cleaning instructions, as well as a thermostatic low-water safety device (dry-run protection). Once distillate has been drawn off via the ergonomic tap with integrated continuous and intermittent settings, an electronic level sensor triggers the immediate, fully automatic refilling of the storage tank. Technical details Distillation & Metrological Specifications Unit type: Single-column still / Fully automatic with storage tank Production capacity: 8.0 l/h Conductivity of mono-distillate at 25 °C: 2.3 µS/cm Storage tank capacity: 16 l (equivalent to twice the hourly output) Degassing: CO₂ degassing port on the condenser Thermodynamics & Fluid Management Max. heating power: 6 kW Max. power consumption: 6 kW Cooling water consumption: approx. 1.2 l/min Minimum cooling water pressure: 3 bar Max. cooling water pressure: 7 bar Water inlet connection (water cooling): 1/2 inch (hose connection) Water outlet connection (water cooling): 3/4 inch (hose connection) Integrated option: Separate water supply to the boiler feed with pre-treated water (1/2-inch hose connection) Design, Protection & Safety Material (in contact with sample): High-quality, stainless steel (tubular heating elements, bladder, tank, condenser) Housing material: Galvanised sheet steel, powder-coated (double-walled design) Installation: Suitable for tabletop installation or secure wall mounting Safety systems: Thermostatic low-water protection, electronic contamination monitoring with automatic distillation stop and visual cleaning indicator Distillate collection: Drain tap with practical continuous and tap-to-run settings Dimensions & Logistics Unit dimensions (W x D x H): 780 x 410 x 540 mm Net weight: 34 kg Ambient temperature range: 10 … 40 °C Mains supply: 400 V / 3/N/PE / 50/60 Hz Mains plug: Robust mains cable with CEE plug (IEC 60309, 5-pin, red, 16 A) Country of origin: Germany Contents 1 x LAUDA Puridest PD 8 R water distiller base unit (MPN: L003015) 1 x Integrated 16-litre stainless steel storage tank 1 x Integrated power cable with 5-pin CEE plug (16 A) 1 x User manual Individual requirements & accessories To optimise ultrapure water quality and protect the stainless steel distillation flask from rapid limescale build-up, it is recommended to install pre-treatment components upstream, depending on the local raw water hardness. Our range includes suitable dechlorination filters (dechlorination filters with initial fill), phosphate barriers for hardness stabilisation, and 1-µm pre-filters including a fine filter cartridge. The system is factory-fitted with a separate water supply, allowing the boiler to be fed directly with pre-treated water (e.g. from an upstream reverse osmosis or desalination system). LAUDA Loop L 250, circulation bath, Peltier technology, 250 W, L000580
Thermoelectric solid-state thermodynamics (Peltier effect) The precise isochoric temperature control of sensitive external instruments in optical analysis (such as refractometers or polarimetres) requires a constant heat sink without oscillating refrigerant cycles. The LAUDA Loop L 250 completely eliminates the need for a conventional compression chiller and operates on the basis of Advanced Peltier Technology. Thermodynamic energy transfer takes place via thermoelectric semiconductor junctions which, when a direct current is applied, extract thermal energy from the fluid temperature-control medium (cooling capacity of 250 W at 20 °C). Thanks to microprocessor-controlled polarity reversal, exactly the same Peltier elements function as heating units (heating capacity 400 W). This reversible electron flow completely eliminates the thermodynamic dead band of conventional compressors around the ambient temperature zero point and enables metrological temperature stability of ± 0.1 K within the operating range of 4 °C to 80 °C. Vibration elimination and fluid-mechanical kinematics A fundamental analytical advantage of the compressor-free architecture is the absolute absence of mechanical vibration. As there are no reciprocating piston compressors or expanding F-gases (refrigerants) to oscillate, no macromechanical vibrations are induced in the temperature control circuit or the housing. This is absolutely essential when the system is physically operated in the vicinity of highly sensitive laser spectrometers or scanning electron microscopes. The internal fluid-mechanical kinematics are achieved by a high-performance circulation pump, which delivers a delivery pressure of 0.8 bar and a maximum hydrodynamic flow rate of 3 l/min into the closed external circuit. To minimise the time required for set-up when switching between different consumers, the system is fitted as standard with Quick C. 1/4" quick-release couplings, which guarantee a drip-free and hermetic disconnection of the pipework network. System cybernetics and global energy self-sufficiency The electronic interface is controlled via an extremely high-contrast graphical OLED display and an intuitive 3-button soft-key architecture, which modulates the PID control loop without latency. A serial RS-232 interface is integrated for seamless GLP-compliant data logging in automated laboratory environments. To counteract infrastructural anomalies in various global power grids, the Loop L 250 is equipped with a wide-range power supply (100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz). This physically safeguards the continuous kinetics and thermodynamics of the assay, even in the event of fluctuating mains voltages. Technical details Thermodynamics & Peltier technology Operating temperature range: 4 °C to 80 °C Cooling capacity (at 20 °C): 250 W Cooling capacity (at 10 °C): 130 W Heating capacity (maximum): 400 W Temperature stability (in accordance with DIN 12876): ± 0.1 K Cooling technology: Thermoelectric (Peltier elements, compressor-free, no refrigerant) Metrology & Control Engineering Control: PID microprocessor Cybernetic interface: Graphical OLED display Operating concept: 3-button soft-key navigation Data interface: RS-232 (serial) Fluid mechanics & pump kinematics Delivery pressure (maximum): 0.8 bar Flow rate (maximum): 3 l/min Filling volume (maximum): 320 ml Hydraulic connection (in/out): Quick C quick-connect coupling, 1/4" Permitted temperature-control media: Non-flammable fluids (water, water-glycol mixtures) System infrastructure & dimensions System dimensions (W x D x H): 261 x 368 x 312 mm Machine weight: 11.7 kg Cooling method: Air-cooled Noise emission: 57 dB(A) Protection rating (to DIN EN 60529): IP 21 (Class I / NFL) Electrical & Energy Management Mains supply: 100 – 240 V (wide-range input) Frequency: 50/60 Hz Power consumption (maximum): 400 W Contents of delivery 1 x LAUDA Loop L 250 circulation bath 1 x ITU mains cable (with CEE7/7 earth-equipped plug) 2 x quick-connect couplings (Quick C. 1/4") Important note: Thermally insulated pump hoses to prevent thermodynamic losses, an external temperature-control medium (such as demineralised water or water-glycol mixtures) and specific thread adaptors for peripheral devices are essential for process operation and are not included in the scope of delivery. Customised requirements & accessories The Loop L 250 is a purely physical heat sink and heat source. To transfer the generated thermal power of 250 W isochorically to the external reactor or analytical instrument without dissipating energy into the laboratory atmosphere, it is essential to use highly insulated silicone or polymer hoses. At operating temperatures close to 4 °C, the use of uninsulated material will inevitably lead to condensation forming on the outer surface. When purchasing the tubing, please ensure it is fully compatible with the supplied 1/4" quick-connect couplings. Please contact our procurement service at any time for the fluid-dynamic and thermodynamic configuration of your circuit.

LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G Water Distillation Apparatus, Glass Distillation Apparatus, L003018
The LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G water distillation unit is a specialised, cryogenic and thermotechnically advanced laboratory system solution for the fully automated production of high-purity, sterile and germ-free ultrapure water (mono-distillate). In demanding physico-chemical and medical laboratory applications such as sample dilution, reagent preparation or instrumental analysis, absolute purity of the source medium is essential to rule out process-related artefacts and microbiological contamination. The compact system delivers a constant output of approximately 4 litres per hour with an excellent conductivity of 2.2 µS/cm at 25 °C. For laboratory managers and industrial procurement departments, this glass distillation apparatus offers the highest level of validity and operational reliability, as it can be commissioned without specialist staff and is optimised for the treatment of ordinary raw water. Thermodynamic phase transition and visible ultra-pure water quality The distillation-based purification principle of this fully automatic unit is based on the precise thermal evaporation and subsequent recondensation of the medium. An outstanding material-related feature is that the evaporator, condensers and overflow pipes are manufactured entirely from high-purity DURAN / borosilicate glass 3.3. This material-science specification guarantees absolute inertness towards both the gaseous and liquid phases, thereby permanently ruling out metallic cross-contamination whilst preserving the integrity of the materials. Thanks to an easily removable, shatterproof and non-fogging front pane, the entire distillation process can be visually monitored. The integrated condensers are also fitted with a drip-resistant vapour guide (drip protection) and can be sterilised directly within the system via the targeted vapour guide. Quartz-sheathed heating elements and highly efficient energy recovery The thermal heating concept of the LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G is implemented using high-performance electric heating rods fitted with a high-quality quartz glass sheath. This sheath not only minimises abrasive wear caused by limescale deposits in the boiler but also ensures highly efficient heat radiation to the surrounding fluid. With a heating output of 3 kW, the system ensures extremely short pull-down times to the boiling point. To drastically reduce operating costs, the system utilises an intelligent energy recovery concept: the cooling water used to condense the steam – which is heated in a way that is gentle on the material – is fed directly into the evaporator boiler, significantly minimising overall energy consumption. Cybernetic contamination monitor and automated media management To ensure seamlessly monitored quality management, the unit is equipped with a process-reliable cybernetic monitoring system. An integrated electronic contamination monitor continuously measures the status inside the evaporator; in the event of critical contamination levels, it automatically initiates a water change to thoroughly flush and clean the boiler. An integrated solenoid valve controls the water supply in a way that is gentle on the material and blocks the inflow once the target state is reached, thereby reliably preventing unnecessary wastage of cooling water resources (approx. 1.2 l/min). An electronic level monitoring system and a dual water shortage safety feature instantly disconnect the system from the power supply should the raw water supply fail, enabling self-sufficient and unattended continuous operation in the laboratory. Technical details Distillation & Metrological Specifications Apparatus type: Single-glass distillation apparatus / Fully automatic without storage tank Production capacity: approx. 4.0 l/h Conductivity of mono-distillate at 25 °C: 2.2 µS/cm Condenser sterilisation: Can be carried out using steam directly within the system Degassing: Integrated CO₂ degassing port via the condenser outlet Thermodynamics & Fluid Management Max. heating power: 3 kW Max. power consumption: 3 kW Heating elements: Special heating rods with quartz glass sheathing Cooling water flow rate / consumption: approx. 1.2 l/min Minimum cooling water pressure differential: 3 bar Max. cooling water pressure: 7 bar Distillate outlet: Via hose connection on the right-hand side of the unit Design, protection & safety Material (in contact with sample): DURAN / borosilicate glass 3.3 (evaporator, condensers, overflows) Housing material: Galvanised sheet steel, high-quality powder-coated Viewing window: Easily removable, shatterproof and non-fogging front pane Installation: Suitable for flexible tabletop use or secure wall mounting Safety systems: Electronic contamination monitor with automatic water change, electronic level monitoring, low-water protection (dry-run protection) Water control: Integrated solenoid valve for automatic water shut-off Dimensions & Logistics Unit dimensions (W x D x H): 650 x 365 x 390 mm Net weight: approx. 24 kg Ambient temperature range: 10 to 40 °C Mains supply: 230 V / 50/60 Hz Mains connection: Sturdy mains cable with Schuko plug Contents of delivery 1 x LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G water distiller base unit (MPN: L003018) 1 x Integrated mains cable with Schuko plug 1 x operating instructions Important note: Connecting hoses for the water inlet and outlet, as well as pre-filter components compliant with the manufacturer’s specifications, are not included as standard and must be configured separately. Individual requirements & accessories To provide mechanical protection for the glass distillation flask against rapid limescale build-up and to extend maintenance intervals, the use of water treatment components in the upstream system is recommended, depending on local water hardness. Our product range includes suitable dechlorination filters, phosphate cartridges for hardness stabilisation and 1 µm pre-filters. The integrated condensers are also fitted with a droplet-repellent vapour guide (drip protection) and can be sterilised directly within the system via the targeted vapour guide. Quartz-sheathed heating elements and highly efficient energy recovery The thermal heating concept of the LAUDA Puridest PD 8 G is implemented using high-performance electric heating rods fitted with a high-quality quartz glass sheath. This sheath not only minimises abrasive wear caused by limescale deposits in the boiler, but also ensures highly efficient heat radiation to the surrounding fluid. With a maximum heating output of 6 kW, the system ensures extremely short pull-down times to the boiling point. To drastically reduce operating costs, the system utilises an intelligent energy recovery concept: the cooling water used to condense the steam – which is heated in a way that is gentle on the material – is fed directly into the evaporative boiler, thereby significantly minimising overall energy consumption. An integrated solenoid valve controls the water supply in a way that is gentle on the material and blocks the inflow once the target condition is reached, thereby reliably preventing unnecessary wastage of cooling water resources (2.4 l/min). Electronic level monitoring and a dual water shortage safety system instantly disconnect the system from the power supply if the raw water supply fails, enabling self-sufficient and unattended continuous operation in the laboratory. LAUDA Puridest PD 4 R Water Distiller, Single-column Distiller, L003014
The LAUDA Puridest PD 4 R water distiller is a highly advanced thermal system solution for the fully automated production of high-purity, sterile and pyrogen-free ultrapure water (mono-distillate) in clinical, pharmaceutical and university laboratory settings. In demanding analytical processes, reagent preparation or microbiological cell culture applications, the consistent removal of inorganic salts, organic impurities and microbial contaminants is the primary criterion for gently eliminating interference effects in instrumental analyses. This fully automatic compact system delivers an excellent distillate conductivity of approx. 2.3 µS/cm at 25 °C and, with a continuous production rate of 4 litres per hour, ensures a self-sufficient supply of ultrapure water. For laboratory managers and procurement officers, this integrated system architecture offers the ideal combination of on-demand media storage and exceptional process reliability in accordance with stringent GLP and GMP guidelines, thanks to the integrated 8-litre storage tank. Cooling efficiency and automated resource management The thermodynamic kinetics of the LAUDA Puridest PD 4 R are characterised by intelligent, energy-optimised media management. The cooling water used for condensation – which is heated in a way that is gentle on the material – is fed directly into the distillation flask (boiler). This energy-efficient recirculation drastically reduces the required nominal thermal output of the 3 kW tubular heating elements and minimises the overall CO₂ footprint of laboratory operations. To conserve valuable raw water resources, an integrated solenoid valve controls the water supply fully automatically: once the 8-litre storage tank is completely filled, the system instantly blocks the cooling water supply, thereby gently preventing unnecessary idle consumption. Materials Science System Integrity and Sensors The physical system boundary of the apparatus is defined by a double-walled, powder-coated housing made of galvanised sheet steel, which offers outstanding thermal insulation and mechanical resilience. All functional elements in contact with samples and vapour – such as the tubular heating elements, distillation flask, storage tank and condenser – are made of high-purity, stainless steel. Technical details Distillation & Metrological Specifications Unit type: Single-column still / Fully automatic with storage tank Production capacity: 4.0 l/h Conductivity of mono-distillate at 25 °C: 2.3 uS/cm Storage tank capacity: 8 l (equivalent to twice the hourly output) Degassing: CO₂ degassing port on the condenser Thermodynamics & Fluid Management Max. heating power: 3 kW Max. power consumption: 3 kW Cooling water consumption: approx. 1.1 l/min Minimum cooling water pressure: 3 bar Max. cooling water pressure: 7 bar Water inlet connection (water cooling): 1/2 inch (hose connection) Water outlet connection (water cooling): 3/4 inch (hose connection) Integrated option: Separate water supply to the boiler feed with pre-treated water (1/2-inch hose connection) Design, Protection & Safety Material (in contact with sample): High-quality, stainless steel (tube heating element, bladder, tank, condenser) Housing material: Galvanised sheet steel, powder-coated (double-walled design) Installation: Suitable for tabletop installation or secure wall mounting Safety systems: Thermostatic low-water protection, electronic contamination monitoring with automatic distillation stop and visual cleaning indicator Distillate collection: Drain tap with practical continuous and tap-to-run settings Dimensions & Logistics Unit dimensions (W x D x H): approx. 620 x 330 x 460 mm Net weight: approx. 20 kg Ambient temperature range: 10 to 40 °C Mains supply: 230 V / 50/60 Hz Mains plug: Sturdy mains cable with Schuko plug Contents 1 x LAUDA Puridest PD 4 R water distiller base unit (MPN: L003014) 1 x Integrated 8-litre stainless steel storage tank 1 x Integrated mains cable with Schuko plug 1 x User manual Important note: Connecting hoses for the water inlet and outlet, as well as mounting hardware for optional wall mounting, are not included as standard and must be ordered separately according to your specific application. Individual requirements & accessories To optimise ultrapure water quality and protect the stainless steel distillation flask from rapid limescale build-up, we recommend the use of pre-treatment components upstream of the unit, depending on the local raw water hardness. Our range includes suitable dechlorination filters (dechlorination filters with initial fill), phosphate barriers for hardness stabilisation, and 1-µm pre-filters including a fine filter cartridge. LAUDA Loop L 100 Thermoelectric Circulating Bath, +80 °C, L000027
LAUDA Loop L 100: A revolution in compact temperature control The LAUDA Loop L 100 (MPN L000027) marks a technological shift in the laboratory. Where loud, heavy compressor-based coolers once stood, this thermoelectric circulation thermostat now ensures precise temperatures. The unit is based on Peltier technology. This means it operates entirely without refrigerant or a compressor. For you as a user, this means: less noise, fewer vibrations, less maintenance and a drastic reduction in your environmental footprint. The Loop L 100 is specially designed for external temperature control applications requiring constant temperatures between +4 °C and +80 °C. Peltier technology: cooling and heating using electricity At the heart of the LAUDA Loop L 100 is the Peltier element. When an electrical voltage is applied, heat is transferred from one side to the other. This technology offers key advantages over conventional systems: Refrigerant-free: As no F-gases (fluorinated greenhouse gases) are used, the unit is not subject to strict environmental regulations or leak tests. It operates in a completely climate-friendly manner. Low vibration: As there is no compressor in operation, there is virtually no mechanical vibration. This makes the Loop L 100 the ideal choice for vibration-sensitive applications such as microscopy or optical measurement techniques. Compact design: The design is extremely space-saving. With a width of just 17.5 cm, the unit fits on any laboratory bench, no matter how full it is. Dual function: The system can both cool and heat. Simply switching the polarity is enough for the Loop to switch seamlessly between modes to maintain the target temperature precisely. Main area of application: External applications The LAUDA Loop L 100 is a circulation thermostat only. It does not have an open bath into which samples are immersed, but rather a small internal reservoir. Its strength lies in supplying external devices. Typical areas of application include: Refractometers & polarimetres: Here, a constant temperature (often 20 °C or 25 °C) is crucial for accurate measurement results. Electrophoresis: Dissipation of the heat generated during the process to protect the gels from overheating. Micro-reactors: Temperature control of chemical syntheses on a millilitre scale. Sample preparation: Maintaining a constant temperature for cuvette holders in spectroscopy. Performance and efficiency Despite its small size, the Loop L 100 delivers impressive performance figures. It offers a cooling capacity of up to 120 watts (at 20 °C), which is more than sufficient for most small laboratory instruments. The pump capacity, with a flow rate of 2.6 l/min and a pressure of 0.8 bar, is optimally designed to deliver fluid even through narrower tubing or heat exchangers. A key feature is its energy efficiency: the fan adjusts its speed according to the load. In partial-load operation, the unit is therefore whisper-quiet and consumes only a minimal amount of electricity. Thanks to the wide-range mains adaptor (100–240 V), the Loop L 100 can be used worldwide without the need to switch settings – ideal for research groups operating internationally. Ease of use: simplicity is key Operation of the LAUDA Loop L 100 is kept to the essentials. Just three buttons are needed to make all the settings. OLED display: The display is bright, high-contrast and exceptionally easy to read, even from oblique angles. It shows the actual and setpoint values as well as the operating status. Plug & Play: Quick-connect couplings (CPC connectors) on the inlet and outlet allow the hoses to be connected in a matter of seconds without spilling a drop. A hose set is often already prepared, so you can get started straight away. Interface: An RS 232 interface is integrated as standard to integrate the device into automated laboratory environments or to document process data. Maintenance and safety Where there is no refrigerant, none can escape. And where there is no compressor oil, none needs to be changed. The Loop L 100 is virtually maintenance-free. Only the air filter on the front should be cleared of dust from time to time – this can be done without tools thanks to a magnetic mount. Safety is ensured by over-temperature protection and low-level protection. As the fill volume is very small (only approx. 0.3 litres), handling the temperature-control fluid is also safe and cost-effective. With the LAUDA Loop L 100, you are choosing the future of laboratory temperature control: green, quiet, compact and precise. Technical data Unit type: Thermoelectric recirculating thermostat Operating temperature range: +4 °C to +80 °C Temperature stability: ± 0.1 K Heating capacity: 0.2 kW Cooling capacity (at 20 °C): 0.12 kW (120 watts) Cooling capacity (at 10 °C): 0.06 kW Max. pump pressure: 0.8 bar Max. pump flow rate: 2.6 L/min Minimum/maximum fill volume: 0.3 / 0.32 L Connections: 1/4" quick-release couplings (CPC) Interface: RS 232 Mains supply: 100–240 V; 50/60 Hz (wide range) Refrigerant: None (Peltier technology) Dimensions (W x H x D): 175 x 266 x 301 mm Weight: approx. 7 kg Contents of delivery 1 x LAUDA Loop L 100 1 x mains lead 2 x hose connectors for hoses with an internal diameter of 6–9 mm (adapters to CPC) 1 x user manual Customised requirements & accessories Do you require insulated hoses to minimise energy loss, or special temperature control fluids for continuous use?
