Eppendorf Reference 2 single-channel pipette, fixed, 20 µL, light grey, 4925000065

Product information "Eppendorf Reference 2 single-channel pipette, fixed, 20 µL, light grey, 4925000065"

The Eppendorf Reference 2 for 20 µL is a mechanical fixed-volume pipette with one-button operation and a smooth surface. The volume is fixed, and the pipette can be fully autoclaved. The colour code light grey indicates the matching tip: epT.I.P.S. 0.5 to 20 µL L.

One-button operation

According to Eppendorf, operation is via a single button. According to Eppendorf, haptic feedback is intended to prevent unintentional tip ejection. The data sheet also mentions active aerosol reduction. The pipette works with an air cushion.

Adjustment and adjustment seals

The scope of delivery includes 1 adjustment seal for temporary adjustment and 2 adjustment seals for factory adjustment. With temporary adjustment, the pipette can be adapted to the liquid, to extended tips or to the altitude without calibrating. It is possible to return to the factory adjustment.

Colour code and tips

According to Eppendorf, the colour of the pipette corresponds to the colour of the matching epT.I.P.S. Here, the tip epT.I.P.S. 0.5 to 20 µL L belongs to the colour code light grey. Some nominal volumes are available in two colours, which belong to different tips. Colour code and tip should therefore be compared before ordering. The pipette is an open system, and tips from other manufacturers are possible. The measurement deviations apply only with original epT.I.P.S.

Typical applications

  • A fixed addition of 20 µL to many preparations
  • Standard solutions with a constant preparation volume
  • Routine steps in which nobody should change the volume
  • Adding ready-prepared reagents to reaction vessels
  • Workstations with several fixed-volume pipettes for recurring protocols

Autoclaving and resistance

The pipette may go into the autoclave in the assembled state at 121 °C and 1 bar for 20 minutes, upper and lower part together. No additional disinfectants or sodium hypochlorite are used. Filter sleeve and protective filter, where present on the model, are autoclaved separately. The pipette is UV-resistant at 254 nm. According to Eppendorf, chemical resistance is high, and special lower parts are available for aggressive chemicals. The pipette is operated at +5 °C to +40 °C and 10 to 95 % relative humidity. For storage, Eppendorf specifies -5 °C to +45 °C.

Measurement deviations

Eppendorf specifies the measurement deviation for the nominal volume of this pipette. According to Eppendorf, the values apply only with original epT.I.P.S. Eppendorf determines them gravimetrically according to ISO 8655, with 10 determinations per volume and water according to ISO 3696. The systematic error describes how far the mean value deviates from the set volume. The random error describes the scatter of the individual values.
