The standard for hard and brittle samples: the IKA A 10.1 stainless steel beater

The IKA A 10.1 stainless steel beater (MPN 0025001680) is the standard grinding tool for the tried-and-tested IKA A 10 basic analytical mill. It is specially designed for crushing and pulverising hard, brittle materials and, thanks to its geometry and material properties, delivers fast, reproducible results in everyday laboratory work.

Efficient comminution (impact principle)

This beater operates on the impact principle. At high speeds, the edges of the tool shatter the material against the walls of the grinding chamber.

• Ideal samples: It is perfectly suited to cereals, seeds, coffee beans, minerals, salts, coal or dry earths.
• Hardness: The beater easily handles materials up to a Mohs hardness of 5. (For even harder samples up to a Mohs hardness of 9, we recommend the optional carbide beater A 10.3).

Genuine IKA spare part for a long service life

Even high-quality stainless steel is subject to natural wear and tear when in constant contact with hard samples. If the edges of the beater become blunt, the grinding time increases and the sample may overheat unduly due to the increased friction.

• With the A 10.1 original spare part, you can immediately restore your mill to full performance.

• The replacement can be carried out by the user themselves in just a few simple steps and without any specialist knowledge.

Do you have fibrous, tough samples (such as plant leaves or plastics)? If so, you will achieve significantly better results with a cutting blade (e.g. A 10.2) than with this impact beater.
