IKA A 10.2 star blade for the A 10 basic analytical mill, 0025001162

Product information "IKA A 10.2 star blade for the A 10 basic analytical mill, 0025001162"

The specialist for fibrous and soft samples: the IKA A 10.2 star blade

The IKA A 10.2 star blade (MPN 0025001162) greatly expands the range of applications for your IKA A 10 basic analytical mill. Whilst the standard stainless steel beater (A 10.1) crushes hard and brittle samples, it quickly reaches its limits when dealing with tough or fibrous materials. This is exactly where the A 10.2 star blade comes into its own: it operates not on the principle of impact, but on that of cutting.

Sharp edges for clean cuts

The special star-shaped geometry with razor-sharp cutting edges shreds materials that would otherwise simply be flung around the grinding chamber or wrap themselves around the shaft.

  • Ideal samples: It is excellent for shredding leaves, grasses, roots, paper, cardboard, soft plastics, textiles or meat.
  • Gentle shredding: Thanks to the efficient cutting action, the sample is subjected to less crushing, which reduces unwanted frictional heat in the grinding chamber – an important factor for temperature-sensitive biological samples.

Genuine IKA quality for maximum safety

Like all grinding tools, this blade is also subjected to extreme centrifugal forces.

  • As an original IKA accessory made from high-quality stainless steel, it guarantees maximum safety and a precise fit.
  • The user can switch from the standard beater to the star blade (and vice versa) in just a few simple steps.

Individual requirements & accessories

Is your sample not only fibrous but also extremely light and voluminous? In that case, a grinding chamber reducer (A 10.4) can help to keep the sample closer to the blade and optimise the grinding result. For hard, brittle materials (such as salts or cereals), please continue to use the standard beater (A 10.1). Please contact our procurement service for expert advice.
