This package seamlessly combines the robust ROTAVISC SBS me-vi viscometer with the high-performance CBC 5 basic cooling and heating circulation thermostat.

Active cooling and heating: the CBC 5 basic

Unlike pure heating units (such as the ROTATEMP system), the CBC 5 basic thermostat included in the set offers full flexibility in both directions. With a powerful heating capacity of 2,500 watts and an active cooling capacity of 350 watts, it covers a temperature range from -25 °C to +200 °C. This is crucial for real-world stress tests:

• Cold tests: Analyse the temperature at which an oil becomes too viscous or an emulsion breaks down.
• Heat tests: Investigate the decrease in viscosity under process heat. Thanks to the powerful pressure and suction pumps, the temperature control medium (e.g. silicone oil) is circulated optimally, guaranteeing excellent temperature uniformity directly at the measuring cup.

SBS bearings: Robustness for everyday industrial use

The measuring head in this package is the “SBS” version of the ROTAVISC me-vi. “SBS” stands for Steel Ball Bearing. In contrast to the more delicate sapphire bearing (“jewel bearing”), this technology is extremely resistant to mechanical stress.
