Anyone who wants to set up an external temperature control system with a larger stainless steel bath without searching for accessories individually will find a ready-to-connect combination of immersion circulator and bath in the IKA ICC basic pro 20 c package (MPN 8036000). With a bath opening of 255 x 309 millimetres, the size L stainless steel bath offers space for larger vessels or several samples suspended in parallel, while the thermostat with 2000 watts of heating power reliably holds temperatures from room temperature to 150 degrees Celsius. Bath bridge, cover, pump connection set and cooling coil are part of the scope of delivery, so the system can be connected to existing circuits directly after unpacking.

2000 watts heating power and precise PID control

The thermostat included in the package heats the bath with 2000 watts of heating power and holds the temperature via PID control with a stability of ±0.02 kelvin according to DIN 12876. The set temperature can be specified with a setting accuracy of ±0.1 kelvin and read off an LED display with a resolution of 0.1 kelvin. A working temperature sensor of type PT 100 measures the actual temperature in the bath, and an additional PT1000 sensor independently monitors the safety temperature.

Stainless steel bath size L for larger volumes

The IB 20 pro stainless steel bath has a bath opening of 255 x 309 millimetres at the bottom and a maximum of 292 x 325 millimetres at the upper bath edge, with an immersion depth of 85 to 125 millimetres. The bath is therefore suitable for larger vessels or for the parallel operation of several connected consumers. The stainless steel version of the pro series tolerates temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius in the bath and can therefore be used more broadly than the plastic baths of the eco series, which are limited to pure water up to 100 degrees Celsius.

Pressure/suction pump with pump connection set for external circuits

A pressure/suction pump with variable pump output delivers up to 18 litres per minute at 0 bar back pressure and reaches a pump pressure of up to 0.3 bar. Via the supplied pump connection set PCS.ICC, the bath can be connected to external consumers such as jacketed vessels or viscometers, while the cooling coil CC2, which is also included, allows external cooling of the bath if required, for example to reach the minimum operating temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Safety concept according to DIN 12876 and easy operation

The thermostat is classified as Class III according to DIN 12876 and marked FL, and is therefore approved for use with flammable liquids. An adjustable safety circuit from 0 to 160 degrees Celsius and a visual and audible warning function protect against over-temperature, and low and high level protection additionally monitors the fill level in the bath. The supplied cover CL.ICC reduces evaporation and protects against splashes, while the thermostat itself can be attached to the bath tool-free via a clamp.

Interfaces for PC connection and documentation

Via the interfaces RS 232 and USB, the ICC basic pro 20 c can be connected to a PC, for example to record temperature curves over a longer period or to monitor several devices centrally. For ongoing operation, operation via the LED display directly on the device is sufficient, and the permissible duty cycle of 100 per cent allows continuous operation without the thermostat having to be switched off for breaks. The calibration option also makes it possible to compare the temperature display against a reference thermometer if required and thus to ensure traceable measured values even in environments subject to documentation requirements.

Cleaning and care of the stainless steel bath

The stainless steel version of the IB 20 pro bath can be cleaned with the usual laboratory cleaners and is less sensitive to mechanical stress than a plastic bath. The supplied cover CL.ICC not only reduces evaporation during operation but also keeps dust and contamination out when the bath is not in use for a while. Since the thermostat can be removed tool-free via the clamp, the bath itself is also easily accessible for thorough cleaning, without hoses or connections having to be permanently dismantled.
