IKA ICC 100 lite eco 8 Immersion Circulator, Plastic Bath 8 Litre, 10013176

Product information "IKA ICC 100 lite eco 8 Immersion Circulator, Plastic Bath 8 Litre, 10013176"

Not every water bath in the laboratory has to be large, and for individual samples or small series a compact, inexpensive model is often entirely sufficient. The IKA Compact Immersion Circulator ICC 100 lite eco 8 (0010013176) combines the ICC 100 lite immersion circulator with the smallest available plastic bath in the series, 8 litres in volume with a bath opening of 227 x 118 millimetres, and covers a working temperature range from room temperature to 100 °C with internal circulation.

Most compact bath in the ICC 100 lite eco series

The IB 8 eco plastic bath offers a bath opening of 227 x 118 millimetres at a bath depth of at least 150 millimetres and is thus the smallest bath within the ICC 100 lite eco series. The external dimensions of the entire system of circulator head, bath and bath bridge are 320 x 335 x 349 millimetres, a compact format for workstations with limited space. Since the bath is made of plastic, it is intended exclusively for temperature control of water, not for oils or other heat transfer fluids.

Performance data of the ICC 100 lite circulator head

The circulator head delivers a heating power of 2,000 watts at a working temperature range from room temperature to 100 °C, and with external cooling operating temperatures down to -25 °C can be reached. The temperature stability according to DIN 12876 is ±0.05 kelvin, and a PID controller with PT1000 working and safety probes handles the control. The ICC 100 lite eco series is designed exclusively for internal circulation in its own bath. A pump for external consumers is not provided in the circulator head, and for a pure water bath this is generally not necessary either.

Operation, display and safety concept

Operation is via a membrane keypad, and the display is an LED display with a resolution of 0.1 kelvin. The adjustable safety circuit ranges from 0 to 110 °C, and visual and audible warning functions as well as low-level protection reliably protect the device and the water fill. The system is classified according to DIN 12876 in safety class III (FL).

Lightest circulator head in the entire ICC lite series

The circulator head itself weighs only 4.2 kilograms at dimensions of 135 x 303 x 180 millimetres and is mounted directly on the bath via a clamp mounting, making it even slightly lighter than the 4.7 kilogram circulator head of the ICC 150 lite pro series. The IP 21 degree of protection and a permissible ambient temperature range of 5 to 40 °C at up to 80 % relative humidity cover the usual laboratory conditions. The device can be connected to a PC via USB and RS 232.

Smallest model in the ICC 100 lite eco series

Within the ICC 100 lite eco series, the 8 litre bath of the eco 8 is set against the larger eco 18 variant. Both use the same circulator head with identical heating power, temperature stability and an identical safety concept, but differ in capacity and footprint. Anyone who only controls the temperature of individual samples or small series and has no need for a larger bath saves both footprint and the amount of heat transfer medium required with the eco 8. For a move to a larger size, the same circulator head type can in principle also be connected to a larger bath of the series.

Economical entry into temperature control technology

Compared with the stainless steel baths of the ICC 150 lite pro series, the ICC 100 lite eco series is deliberately tailored to simple water bath applications, without an external pump and without the higher temperatures up to 150 °C. This limitation significantly lowers the purchase cost and makes the ICC 100 lite eco 8 an economical choice for laboratories that are starting with simple basic equipment or are looking for an inexpensive second device for routine tasks, without having to give up the control accuracy of a high-quality IKA circulator head.

Typical applications

As the most compact model of the ICC lite series, the ICC 100 lite eco 8 is suitable above all for simple water bath applications with small volume:

  • Temperature control of individual samples or small sample series in water up to 100 °C
  • Practical courses and training in which a simple, low-cost water bath without an external pump is sufficient
  • Routine applications in quality control with limited space requirements
  • Entry into the ICC lite series for laboratories that want to test with a small budget first before larger sizes are purchased
  • Operating environments in which a corrosion-resistant plastic bath is preferred to a stainless steel bath
