At many laboratory workstations, the footprint is the limiting factor, not the temperature control power required. The IKA Compact Immersion Circulator ICC 150 lite pro 9 (0010013199) combines the ICC 150 lite immersion circulator with the smallest available stainless steel bath in the series, 9 litres in volume with a compact bath opening of 230 x 121 millimetres, and covers a working temperature range from room temperature to 150 °C. The compact format is particularly suitable for workstations where several devices must be operated side by side in a confined space, without compromising on heating power or control accuracy.

Most compact bath in the ICC 150 lite pro series

With a bath opening of 230 x 121 millimetres and a bath depth of at least 150 millimetres, the IB 9 pro stainless steel bath is the smallest within the ICC 150 lite pro series. The external dimensions of the entire system of circulator head, bath and bath bridge are 374 x 377 x 388 millimetres, so the ICC 150 lite pro 9 can also be accommodated on narrower work surfaces, for example when several circulators are in use in parallel for different batches in the same laboratory.

Performance data of the ICC 150 lite circulator head

The circulator head delivers a heating power of 2,000 watts at a working temperature range from room temperature to 150 °C, and with external cooling operating temperatures down to -25 °C can be reached. The temperature stability to DIN 12876 is ±0.05 kelvin, and a PID controller with PT1000 working and safety probes handles the control. The integrated pressure/suction pump reaches a maximum delivery pressure of 0.3 bar, a suction pressure of 0.1 bar and a flow rate of up to 15 litres per minute. The smaller bath volume of 9 litres is therefore brought to the set temperature and mixed particularly quickly and evenly.

Operation, display and safety concept

Operation is via a membrane keypad, and the display is an LED display. The adjustable safety circuit ranges from 0 to 160 °C, and visual and audible warning functions as well as low-level protection reliably protect the device and the heat transfer medium from damage. The system is classified to DIN 12876 in safety class III (FL) and is therefore also approved for use with flammable heat transfer fluids in a closed circuit.

Light circulator head for flexible use

The circulator head itself weighs 4.7 kilograms at dimensions of 135 x 303 x 180 millimetres and is mounted directly on the bath via a clamp mounting, the same component that is also used in the larger sizes pro 12 and pro 20. The IP 21 protection class and a permissible ambient temperature range of 5 to 40 °C at up to 80 % relative humidity cover the usual laboratory conditions. The device can also be connected to a PC via USB and RS 232 and integrated into existing laboratory software.

Small bath, same performance data as the larger sizes

Since all sizes of the ICC 150 lite pro series use the same circulator head, the ICC 150 lite pro 9 does not differ from the larger variants pro 12 and pro 20 in heating power, temperature stability, pump data and safety functions. Only the connected bath is smaller. For applications with small sample volumes, this means no loss of performance compared with the larger sizes of the series, only a smaller liquid reserve and a more compact footprint. Anyone who needs different bath sizes in the same laboratory can also rely on the same circulator head type and only has to become familiar with a single design, regardless of which bath is currently connected.
