IKA ICC basic pro 9 c Immersion Circulator Package, Stainless Steel Bath Size S, up to 150 °C, 8035900

For laboratory workstations with little space where a fully equipped temperature control system is nevertheless required, IKA offers the most compact variant of the complete stainless steel bath packages with the ICC basic pro 9 c package (MPN 8035900). The size S bath can be put into operation directly together with bath bridge, cover, pump connection set and cooling coil. The thermostat itself delivers 2000 watts of heating power and covers a working temperature range from room temperature to 150 degrees Celsius, so a full-fledged external temperature control system can be realised even in a small area. The package therefore differs from the simple basic variant pro 9 mainly through the additional components for connecting external consumers, which would otherwise have to be procured separately.

2000 watts heating power in a compact space

Despite the compact S bath, the thermostat delivers the same heating power of 2000 watts as the larger package variants and controls the temperature via PID with a stability of ±0.02 kelvin according to DIN 12876. The set temperature can be set with an accuracy of ±0.1 kelvin and read off the LED display with 0.1 kelvin resolution. A PT 100 sensor records the working temperature, and a second, independent PT1000 sensor handles safety monitoring.

Stainless steel bath size S for space-saving use

The IB 9 pro stainless steel bath has a bath opening of 195 x 100 millimetres at the bottom and a maximum of 230 x 121 millimetres at the upper bath edge, with an immersion depth of 85 to 125 millimetres. The bath is therefore suitable for smaller vessels and individual applications, without giving up the stainless steel version with an upper temperature limit of 150 degrees Celsius, unlike the plastic baths of the eco series, which are limited to water and 100 degrees Celsius.

Pump connection and cooling coil in the S format too

The compact S package also brings the full equipment for external circuit operation: a pressure/suction pump delivers up to 18 litres per minute at 0 bar back pressure, and the supplied pump connection set PCS.ICC connects the bath to external consumers. The cooling coil CC2 allows external cooling if required down to a minimum operating temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius, and the cover CS.ICC reduces evaporation and protects against contamination.

Safety and handling

Classified according to DIN 12876 Class III with marking FL, the system is approved for flammable liquids. An adjustable safety circuit from 0 to 160 degrees Celsius, visual and audible warning functions and low and high level protection ensure safe operation. The thermostat is attached to the bath by a clamp, so it can be mounted without tools.

Interfaces and comparison with the larger package variants

The S package also has the interfaces RS 232 and USB for connection to a PC as well as a calibration option for adjusting the temperature display. Compared with the variants pro 12 c and pro 20 c, the pro 9 c differs only in bath size and the resulting weight of 15.07 kilograms, while heating power, control accuracy, pump output and safety concept are identical in all three sizes. If you want to temper larger volumes in future, you can switch later to the variants M or L without having to get used to a fundamentally different operating concept.

Cleaning and care in everyday laboratory use

Like the larger pro baths, the size S stainless steel bath can be maintained with common laboratory cleaners and tolerates frequent contact with different bath media better than a plastic bath. The supplied cover CS.ICC keeps the bath clean when not in use and reduces evaporation during operation. Since the thermostat is mounted tool-free via the clamp, the compact bath can also be cleaned quickly and put back into operation when the bath medium is changed frequently.

As the most compact complete stainless steel bath system of the ICC basic series, the pro 9 c is suitable for applications with limited space:
