IKA ICC control pro 20 Immersion Circulator Package, Stainless Steel Bath Size L, up to 150 °C, 8035600

Where a temperature stability of ±0.02 kelvin is not sufficient and finer control accuracy is required instead, the ICC control series from IKA comes into play. The ICC control pro 20 package (MPN 8035600) combines the thermostat with TFT display and PT100 connection for external temperature sensors with the large IB 20 pro stainless steel bath of size L. Unlike the c variants, this package is supplied in the basic configuration with bath and bath bridge, without an additional cover, pump connection set or cooling coil, and is therefore aimed at applications where high precision is the priority and the basic configuration is sufficient. Anyone who additionally needs an external circuit with cover and cooling coil can add the corresponding accessories separately if required, without having to give up the control accuracy of the control series.

TFT display and temperature stability of ±0.01 kelvin

The ICC control thermostat controls the bath temperature via PID with a stability of ±0.01 kelvin according to DIN 12876, twice as accurate as the ICC basic series. Working and safety temperature are shown on a TFT display with a display resolution of 0.01 kelvin, and the set temperature can be set with an accuracy of ±0.1 kelvin. A PT 100 sensor measures the working temperature in the bath, and an additional PT1000 sensor independently monitors the safety temperature.

Connection for external temperature sensors

In contrast to the ICC basic series, the ICC control thermostat offers an additional connection for an external PT100 temperature sensor. This allows the temperature to be recorded and controlled directly at the external consumer instead of only in the bath itself, an advantage when a noticeable temperature difference can occur between bath and application, for example with longer hose runs or larger connected vessels.

Stainless steel bath size L with 2000 watts heating power

The IB 20 pro stainless steel bath has a bath opening of 255 x 309 millimetres at the bottom and a maximum of 292 x 325 millimetres at the upper bath edge, with an immersion depth of 85 to 125 millimetres. The heating power of 2000 watts and the working temperature range from room temperature to 150 degrees Celsius correspond to the values of the ICC basic series, while the pressure/suction pump delivers up to 18 litres per minute at 0 bar back pressure.

Safety according to DIN 12876 Class III

The ICC control pro 20 is also classified as Class III according to DIN 12876 and marked FL for use with flammable liquids. An adjustable safety circuit from 0 to 160 degrees Celsius, visual and audible warning functions and low and high level protection ensure safe operation. The thermostat is attached to the bath by a clamp, so it can be mounted without tools and removed again for maintenance work.

Interfaces for documentation and process monitoring

Via the interfaces RS 232 and USB, the ICC control pro 20 can be connected to a PC to record temperature curves or document several measurement series centrally, an obvious step for a device that is designed for high control accuracy and reproducibility in any case. The permissible duty cycle of 100 per cent allows continuous operation, while the calibration option ensures that the temperature display can be checked regularly against a reference thermometer.

Cleaning and care of the stainless steel bath

The IB 20 pro stainless steel bath can be maintained with common laboratory cleaners and is more robust against frequent contact with different media than a plastic bath. Since this package is supplied without an additional cover, a cover is a sensible addition during longer idle periods without use, to reduce evaporation and contamination of the bath. The clamp mounting of the thermostat allows quick access to the bath at any time for cleaning or a change of the bath medium.
