IKA ICC control pro 9 Immersion Circulator Package, Stainless Steel Bath Size S, up to 150 °C, 8035500

Even in the compact S format, the ICC control series from IKA offers the higher control accuracy that many calibration and reference applications require. The ICC control pro 9 package (MPN 8035500) combines the thermostat with TFT display and external PT100 sensor connection with the IB 9 pro stainless steel bath of size S. The basic configuration consists of thermostat, bath and bath bridge, without an additional cover or pump accessories, and is therefore suitable for workstations where little space is available but precision is not up for discussion. Compared with the fully equipped c variant, only the cover, pump connection set and cooling coil are missing, and these can be retrofitted separately at any time if required. Nothing changes in the actual control technology and sensors, so the pro 9 is also suitable as a budget-conscious entry into the ICC control series.

Temperature stability ±0.01 kelvin in a small space

Despite the compact design of the S bath, the ICC control thermostat achieves the same temperature stability of ±0.01 kelvin according to DIN 12876 as the larger package variants of the series. The TFT display shows working and safety temperature with a resolution of 0.01 kelvin, and the set temperature can be specified with an accuracy of ±0.1 kelvin. A PT 100 sensor records the temperature in the bath, and an additional PT1000 sensor independently handles safety monitoring.

External PT100 sensor connection for direct process measurement

Via the additional PT100 connection, an external temperature sensor can be placed directly at the connected consumer, so that the control is based not on the bath temperature but on the actual process temperature. This is particularly relevant when a temperature gradient can arise between bath and application, for example over longer connecting hoses.

Stainless steel bath size S with full heating power

The IB 9 pro stainless steel bath offers a bath opening of 195 x 100 millimetres at the bottom and a maximum of 230 x 121 millimetres at the upper bath edge, with an immersion depth of 85 to 125 millimetres. Heating power of 2000 watts and a working temperature range from room temperature to 150 degrees Celsius are fully available despite the compact size, as is the pressure/suction pump with a flow rate of up to 18 litres per minute.

Safety and handling

The system is classified as DIN 12876 Class III and approved with FL for flammable liquids. An adjustable safety circuit from 0 to 160 degrees Celsius, visual and audible warning functions and low and high level protection ensure safe operation. The clamp mounting on the bath allows tool-free installation. The classification according to DIN 12876 is an important selection criterion when purchasing a laboratory thermostat, especially if inflammable or flammable media may be used in operation.

Interfaces and comparison with the larger pro 20 variant

Like the larger pro 20 package, the pro 9 also has the interfaces RS 232 and USB for PC connection as well as a calibration option. The only technical difference between the two package sizes lies in the bath itself: bath opening, immersion depth and the resulting weight differ, while heating power, temperature stability, PT100 sensor connection and safety concept are identical in both sizes. If you start with the compact S format, you can switch to the L variant as your needs grow, without having to learn a new operating concept.

Cleaning and care in the compact format

The small S bath of the control series is also made of stainless steel and can accordingly be cleaned and maintained robustly. Since the basic configuration is supplied without a cover, a suitable cover should be used as a separate accessory during longer idle periods to avoid evaporation and contamination. The tool-free clamp mounting makes both cleaning and an occasional change of the bath medium easier.

As the most compact package of the ICC control series, the pro 9 is suitable for precision-oriented applications with limited space requirements:

• Calibration of individual thermometers or sensors with high control accuracy
• Temperature control of smaller external measuring cells via the PT100 sensor connection
• Reference measurements in quality assurance where ±0.01 kelvin stability is required
• Supplementing existing measuring stations with a second, independent temperature control station
