IKA supplies each pipette with three interchangeable grip recesses in different sizes and materials. Whether you have small or large hands, or are right- or left-handed – this pipette adapts to you, not the other way round. The special geometry enables a hand-friendly grip that minimises pressure on the thumb and palm. This is a crucial factor in preventing RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) during long pipetting sessions. Inside the IKA PETTE fix lies technology derived from high-performance mechanical engineering. The piston and tip cone are coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). Laboratory equipment has to withstand a great deal. The IKA PETTE fix is therefore manufactured from high-quality, chemically resistant plastics. The housing is UV-resistant and shock-resistant. Should the pipette accidentally roll off the laboratory bench, its robust construction will generally withstand this mishap without any impairment to its function. For sterile working environments, the entire pipette is fully autoclavable (at 121 °C) without the need for time-consuming disassembly beforehand. This saves valuable time and reduces the risk of contamination.
Extremely simple maintenance and calibration
IKA has also taken maintenance into account. The volume unit can be detached from the handle in just a few simple steps, making cleaning straightforward. Should recalibration be necessary – for example, as part of test equipment monitoring in accordance with ISO 8655 – this can be carried out without tools (!).
