The IKA PETTE vario 0.5–5 ml is the high-performance solution for handling large volumes in the laboratory. Whether transferring reagents, preparing buffer solutions or carrying out environmental analysis – this instrument combines a high dosing volume of up to 5 ml with the precision you have come to expect from IKA. The variable volume range can be adjusted in fine increments of 0.005 ml (5 µl). Despite its size, the pipette is ergonomically perfectly balanced: three interchangeable grips allow for individual adjustment to hand size, which significantly reduces muscle strain even during frequent pipetting of large volumes.

High-performance materials for robustness and lightness

To ensure optimum, fatigue-free handling across this wide volume range, IKA utilises state-of-the-art materials technology. The piston is made of PPSU (polyphenylsulfone), an extremely durable high-performance plastic. The tip cone is made of PPS (polyphenylene sulphide), which makes it particularly resistant to aggressive chemicals and thermal stress. This combination of materials ensures a low weight and minimises friction forces during pipetting and tip ejection.

Maximum hygiene and easy maintenance

For sensitive applications in microbiology or cell culture, the IKA PETTE vario 0.5–5 ml is fully autoclavable at 121 °C. There is no need for any time-consuming dismantling prior to sterilisation. Should it be necessary to clean the interior, the volumetric unit can be dismantled without tools in just a few simple steps. The user can also carry out adjustments – for example, when using liquids with high density or viscosity – independently and without special tools (in accordance with ISO 8655).
