Precision for molecular biology applications

The IKA PETTE vario 2–20 µl is the standard instrument for precise pipetting tasks in molecular biology laboratories. With a volume range of 2 to 20 µl and ultra-fine incrementation of 0.02 µl, it is ideal for setting up PCR reactions, dispensing DNA/RNA samples or pipetting enzymes and buffers. The ergonomic design, featuring interchangeable grips in three sizes, ensures that the pipette fits perfectly in your hand – regardless of whether you are right- or left-handed. This noticeably minimises hand strain, even during long pipetting runs.

Durability thanks to high-tech materials

To ensure maximum resistance to aggressive chemicals and mechanical stress, the piston and tip cone are made of stainless steel and additionally coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). This diamond-like carbon coating is extremely wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. The housing, made from high-performance polymers (PPS and PVDF), is resistant to UV radiation and solvents. The universal tip holder (colour code: yellow) is compatible with standard pipette tips and filter tips from most major manufacturers.

Maximum hygiene and process reliability

For sterile work in cell culture or microbiology, the IKA PETTE vario offers a decisive advantage: it is fully autoclavable at 121 °C without the need for prior disassembly. Cleaning is completed in just a few simple steps thanks to the tool-free disassembly of the volume unit. Calibration can also be carried out by the user independently and without special tools, which makes it considerably easier to comply with ISO 8655 standards in day-to-day laboratory work.
