IKA STICKMAX Adhesive Mat for INC 125 Cooling and Shaking Incubators, 0003920000

Scope of delivery: one STICKMAX adhesive mat. The instrument and flask shown in the image are not included.

Product information "IKA STICKMAX Adhesive Mat for INC 125 Cooling and Shaking Incubators, 0003920000"

When flasks, Petri dishes or multiwell plates are shaken in an incubation shaker, loose vessels tend to slide out of position, especially when no matching clamp holder is fitted for every size in use. The IKA STICKMAX adhesive mat (MPN 0003920000) is placed on the shaking platform of the INC 125 and keeps vessels in place through adhesion alone, without a dedicated holder for every vessel size.

This is particularly useful when different vessel shapes and sizes are shaken together in the same run, for example with changing culture setups in routine operation. The mat is simply laid on the platform and can be removed and cleaned just as easily.

Compatibility

The STICKMAX is official accessory for the IKA INC 125 FS digital incubation shakers (SP20 and SP25) and for the IKA INC 125 FCS digital (SP25) cooling and shaking incubator. The INC 125 FCS digital (SP20) uses the same IO SP 20 shaking platform, so the mat also fits there.

Thermodynamic cybernetics and forced convection The reproducible cultivation of aerobic, thermolabile microorganisms requires cybernetically precise control of isochoric heat transfer. The IKA INC 125 FS digital operates as a thermodynamic incubation shaker based on the physical principle of forced convection (active air circulation). An electronically controlled axial fan generates substantial, continuous air circulation within the 125-litre chamber, with the impeller speed adjustable from 0 to 100 per cent. These dynamic fluid dynamic vectors completely eliminate gravitational temperature stratification (gradients). In conjunction with the PID control algorithm and the integrated PT-100 sensor, the system modulates the surface heating elements in real time, which physically prevents thermodynamic overshoot and guarantees outstanding metrological temperature homogeneity of ± 0.3 K across all geometric incubation planes. Kinetics of orbital mass transfer (SP20) The physical introduction of oxygen into the liquid phase severely limits the metabolic growth of aerobic high-density cultures. The suffix ‘SP20’ defines the process architecture of the integrated kinetics: the shaking platform performs a precise orbital rotation with an amplitude (stroke) of 20 mm. Driven by the brushless direct drive (10 to 300 rpm), this kinematics induces defined hydrodynamic shear forces in the medium. The resulting vortex generation maximises the gas–liquid interface and thus the volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient (kLa), without mechanically lysing the cell membranes. Process flexibility is ensured by the platform’s reversibility: the shaking mechanism can be removed without tools, thereby deactivating the kinematics and allowing the system to be used as a static incubator at temperatures of up to 100 °C. System hermeticity and irreversible thermal decontamination The absolute prevention of biological cross-contamination (carry-over of foreign DNA, mycoplasma or spores) is essential in high-throughput microbiological analysis. The welded inner chamber of the INC 125 FS is monolithically constructed from corrosion-resistant stainless steel (AISI 304), with generous edge radii that physically prevent the formation of microbial biofilms. To guarantee complete sterility of the system between critical batch changes, the system is equipped with an automated, hardware-based decontamination mode. This cybernetic process heats the entire chamber geometry in a controlled manner to 120 °C, thereby thermodynamically and irreversibly denaturing the protein structure of any pathogenic contaminants. An integrated overflow with a drain hose safely collects leaked fluids from broken glass flasks. An electronically controlled axial fan generates a powerful, continuous air circulation within the 125-litre interior chamber, with the impeller speed being infinitely adjustable from 0 to 100 per cent. These dynamic fluid dynamic vectors completely eliminate gravitational temperature stratification (gradients). Working in close conjunction with the PID control algorithm and the integrated PT-100 sensor, the system modulates the surface heating elements in real time. This physically prevents thermodynamic overshoot and guarantees outstanding metrological temperature homogeneity of ± 0.3 K across all geometric incubation levels. Kinematic behaviour of macro-orbital mass transfer (SP25) The physical oxygen supply to the liquid phase severely limits the metabolic growth of aerobic high-density cultures. The suffix ‘SP25’ defines the process architecture of the integrated kinetics: the shaking platform performs an extended orbital rotation with a substantial swing amplitude (stroke) of 25 mm. Driven by the brushless direct drive (10 to 300 rpm), this enhanced kinematics induces enormous hydrodynamic vectors. The 25 mm stroke is rheologically ideal for use in large-volume Erlenmeyer flasks (> 1 litre), as it significantly maximises the volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient even at moderate speeds, without exerting excessive mechanical shear forces on the cell membranes. Process flexibility is ensured by the platform’s reversibility: the shaking mechanism can be removed without tools, thereby deactivating the kinematics and allowing the system to be used as a static incubator at temperatures up to 100 °C. System hermeticity and irreversible thermal decontamination The absolute prevention of biological cross-contamination (carry-over of foreign DNA, mycoplasma or spores) is essential in high-throughput microbiological analysis. Part of the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The crossed-out price is IKA's recommended list price. Our promotional price is net.The IKA INC 125 FCS digital (SP25) is a cooling and shaking incubator with a chamber volume of 125 litres for the cultivation of heat-sensitive cells and microbiological samples. The unit utilises compressor cooling with the refrigerant R290 (propane) and, in combination with the heating function, covers an operating temperature range of 5 °C to 80 °C with the shaking function active, and up to 100 °C in static mode without shaking. A PID control system and reversibly controllable air circulation from 40 to 100 per cent ensure temperature uniformity of ± 0.3 K throughout the chamber.SP25 shaking platform: 25 millimetre stroke for large vesselsThe designation SP25 refers to the oscillation amplitude (stroke) of the shaking platform, which is 25 millimetres – the largest stroke within the INC-125 series. Driven by the same direct drive operating at 10 to 300 revolutions per minute, this extended stroke achieves intensive mixing even at low to medium speeds. This is particularly suitable for large Erlenmeyer flasks with a volume of over 1 litre, as it improves oxygen transfer without requiring very high speeds and the associated higher shear forces on the cells. The SP25 platform can also be removed without tools, meaning the unit can alternatively be used as a static cooling incubator with a temperature range up to 100 °C.SP25 compared to the SP20 modelThe INC 125 FCS digital is also available with the SP20 shaking platform, which has a shorter stroke of 20 millimetres and is designed for small to medium-sized vessels. The SP25 version described here, with a 25-millimetre stroke, is specifically designed for applications involving large-volume Erlenmeyer flasks, where the greater range of motion ensures sufficient mixing even at moderate speeds. The chamber, refrigeration system and temperature control are identical in both versions; the difference lies solely in the shaking platform.Stainless steel chamber and thermal decontaminationThe welded inner chamber is made of corrosion-resistant AISI 304 stainless steel with generous edge radii, which make it difficult for biofilms to form. To facilitate switching between critical batches, the incubator features an automated decontamination mode that heats the chamber in a controlled manner to 100 °C. A defrost function with continuous drainage prevents ice formation inside the chamber during low-temperature incubations. The drainage system features a hose connection with an internal diameter of 10 mm.Capacity and configurationThe chamber accommodates up to 6 wire shelves, each designed for a maximum load of 20 kg. On the shaking platform itself, a surface area of 340 x 480 mm is available for a permissible shaking weight of 7.5 kg – a figure that must be taken into account, particularly when using large-volume flasks. A viewing window in the door allows the samples to be monitored without having to open the chamber and thereby disrupt the temperature control. With system dimensions of 700 x 1000 x 635 mm and a weight of 95 kg, sufficient floor space must be allowed for when installing the unit.Operation, Display and SafetyAn LCD display with a timer function for up to 100 days shows the relevant process data. Temperature control is provided by a PT-100 sensor with a four-wire connection; the setting and display resolution is 0.1 K. A Class 1 safety device in accordance with DIN 12880 is fitted as a thermal safety measure, supplemented by an integrated setpoint limiter which protects the chamber in the event of an unexpected temperature overshoot. Permissible ambient temperatures range from 15 to 32 °C at a maximum relative humidity of 70 per cent.Connection, power consumption and noise emissionThe incubator features a USB-C data interface and is designed for a maximum power consumption of 1,000 W at 220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz; other voltage options, such as 100 to 120 V, are available. The isothermal energy consumption at 37 °C is 79 Wh/h. With a noise emission of 55 dB(A), the INC 125 FCS can also be operated digitally in laboratory environments where several units are running simultaneously.Typical applicationsThe INC 125 FCS digital (SP25) is particularly suitable for cultivation tasks involving large-volume vessels and moderate speed requirements:Cultivation in large-volume Erlenmeyer flasks over 1 litreCell culture and fermentation batches with high oxygen requirements at moderate speedsSwitching between shaking incubation and static cold storage at temperatures up to 100 °C thanks to a tool-free removable platformQuality assurance and routine cultivation with high sample throughput thanks to the decontamination modeThanks to the combination of compressor cooling and a heating function, a single unit thus covers both cold storage and shaking incubation tasks for large-volume cultures, which would otherwise require two separate units.Technical detailsOperating temperature range5 to 80 °C (extended to 100 °C in static operation)RefrigerantR290 (propane), charge 55 g, max. system pressure 21 barHeating capacity750 WAutomatic defrostintegratedThermal decontaminationat 100 °CTemperature sensorPT 100 (4-wire)Setting and display resolution0.1 KTemperature stability (37 °C, ambient temperature 22 °C)± 0.3 KTemperature homogeneity (37 °C, ambient 22 °C)± 0.3 KHeating time (to 37 °C, ambient 22 °C)8 minRecovery time (to 37 °C, ambient 22 °C)4 minsDisplay and timerLCD, maximum time setting 100 daysShaking stroke (SP25)25 mmSpeed range10 to 300 rpm (tolerance ± 5 rpm)Permissible shaking weight7.5 kgFootprint of shaking platform340 x 480 mmChamber volume125 litresSystem dimensions (W x H x D)700 x 1000 x 635 mmWeight95 kgMesh shelvesmax. 6Load per traymax. 20 kgViewing windowintegrated into the doorDrain hose10 mm internal diameterThermal safety deviceTB Class 1 in accordance with DIN 12880Safety shut-offIntegrated setpoint limiterPermissible ambient temperature15 to 32 °CPermissible relative humiditymax. 70 %Noise emission55 dB(A)Energy consumption (isothermal at 37 °C)79 Wh/hVoltage/frequency220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz (other voltage options such as 100 to 120 V available)Power consumptionmax. 1,000 WElectrical fuse2 x T6.3A 250VProtection classIP 20Data interfaceUSB-CContents1 x IKA INC 125 FCS digital (SP25) cooling and shaking incubator1 x IKA IO SP 25 shaking platform (25 mm stroke, removable)2 x IKA IO T 1.00 wire mesh trays (stainless steel)1 x USB cable (C-A) and power leadClamps for Erlenmeyer flasks and STICKMAX adhesive mats for securing the vessels are not included in the scope of delivery and are required additionally for shaking operation.
