Focus on patient safety and hygiene

The IKA UTTD control Tissue Solution has been specifically developed for the microbiological and molecular biological analysis of patient samples. In in vitro diagnostics (IVD), protection against cross-contamination is of the utmost importance. This system offers a safe solution for mincing and digesting tissue, cartilage and bone in hermetically sealed, single-use vessels. The risk of samples becoming contaminated on their way to analysis is eliminated by the system’s closed design.

High-performance drive system with process control

At the heart of the system is the ULTRA-TURRAX ® Tube Drive P control. With a powerful motor (up to 8,000 rpm) and digital control, it guarantees reproducible homogenisation results. Process parameters such as time and speed can be programmed and saved, which is essential in quality-critical areas. The integrated USB interface enables seamless documentation and monitoring of experiments on a PC – a decisive advantage for accredited laboratories.

IVD-compliant disposable tubes included

The set contains 50 of the specialised BMT-20-S-IVD tubes. These single-use tubes are double-sterilised, contain stainless steel balls and are pre-filled with 5 ml of saline solution (NaCl 0.90%). This saves valuable preparation time and allows for immediate use in the operating theatre or laboratory. The tubes serve simultaneously as homogenisation, transport and storage containers. The homogenised sample is safely removed via the pierceable membrane in the lid.
