Kern 572-39 precision balance 4,200 g / 0.01 g

Product information "Kern 572-39 precision balance 4,200 g / 0.01 g"

The Kern 572 is a precision balance in a die-cast aluminium housing. Kern states that the country of origin is Germany. Ten models weigh from 240 g to 24 kg and have a readability of 0.001 g to 0.1 g. Instead of fixed interfaces, the balance features a KUP connection (KERN Universal Port), to which interface adaptors can be easily plugged in. Kern regards it as an all-rounder for laboratories and harsh industrial environments.

Die-cast aluminium housing and data connection

According to Kern, the die-cast aluminium housing (180 x 310 x 85 mm) protects the weighing technology and ensures a stable stand. A spirit level and levelling feet are included. The adaptors for RS-232, USB device, Ethernet, WLAN and Bluetooth BLE can be plugged into the KUP connection without opening the housing. The KERN Communication Protocol (KCP) allows the balance to be queried and remotely controlled via control units or computers. According to Kern, the KERN EasyTouch software is compatible. The LCD has digits 21 mm high.

Functions for laboratory and production

Features include a formulation function, percentage determination, piece counting and vibration-free weighing. The weighing unit can be freely programmed, for example to display thread length (g/m) or paper weight (g/m²). The units are also switchable, including g, kg, ct, lb and oz. The data sheet gives temperatures from -10 °C to 40 °C and up to 80 % humidity. Power is supplied via the plug-in mains adaptor (100 V to 240 V, 50 Hz or 60 Hz). A Li-ion rechargeable battery is optionally available ex works (charging time 8 h, operating time 24 h with and 48 h without backlight).

Three designs in ten models

The 572-30 and 572-32 (240 g and 420 g, readability 0.001 g) have a weighing plate with a diameter of 106 mm, a ring-shaped draught shield (weighing chamber Ø 157 mm, 43 mm high) and an eyelet for below-balance weighing in the scope of delivery. The 572-33, 572-35 and 572-39 (1,600 g, 2,400 g and 4,200 g, readability 0.01 g) have a weighing plate with a diameter of 150 mm. The five large models 572-43, 572-45, 572-49, 572-55 and 572-57 (10 kg to 24 kg) have a rectangular weighing pan measuring 160 x 200 mm. The readability is 0.05 g or 0.1 g, depending on the model. The stabilisation time is 3 s; only the 572-49 takes 2 s.

Typical applications

  • Laboratory applications and sample analysis: 572-30 and 572-32 with draught shield
  • Quality control: piece counting and percentage determination
  • Food industry: larger containers up to 24 kg with 0.1 g readability
  • Workshops: die-cast aluminium housing for everyday use
