The KERN ABT 220-5DNM is the first choice for laboratories that refuse to compromise. As a dual-range balance, it combines the best of both worlds: in the lower weighing range up to 82 g, it offers an extremely fine semi-micro resolution of 0.01 mg. As soon as this range is exceeded, the balance automatically switches to a resolution of 0.1 mg up to the maximum capacity of 220 g. This flexibility makes it ideal for demanding weighing applications involving standards, active pharmaceutical ingredients or expensive precious metals.

Single-cell technology: the cutting edge of weighing technology

Inside the ABT 220-5DNM is a single-cell load cell. Unlike conventional weighing systems, which are assembled from many individual parts, this cell is milled from a single block of aluminium.

Its advantages:

1. Stable temperature behaviour: The balance is significantly less sensitive to temperature fluctuations in the laboratory.
2. Short stabilisation time: Stable weighing readings are available within approximately 4 seconds (at 0.1 mg) or 10 seconds (at 0.01 mg).
3. High mechanical robustness: Corner load behaviour and shock resistance are significantly improved.

Fully automatic internal calibration

Precision to the 5th decimal place requires constant monitoring. The KERN ABT features temperature- and time-controlled internal calibration.

• Temperature: The balance automatically recalibrates itself if the temperature changes by ≥ 0.5 °C.
• Time: A routine calibration takes place every 4 hours. This guarantees you the highest accuracy and allows operation regardless of location, without the need to handle external test weights.

Convenient features

The large glass draught shield with three sliding doors ensures optimum access to the weighing chamber. An integrated dosing aid (high-stability mode) facilitates the precise weighing of powders. Via the RS-232 interface , weighing data can be transferred to a printer or PC in accordance with GLP, including the date, time and balance ID.

Calibratability (M)

This model is verifiable to accuracy class I. This means it can be approved for applications subject to legal metrology requirements (e.g. the manufacture of medicines in pharmacies, trading in precious metals) (verification optional).
