Kern ADJ 200-4 analytical balance, internally adjusting, 220 g / 0.1 mg

Product information "Kern ADJ 200-4 analytical balance, internally adjusting, 220 g / 0.1 mg"

The Kern ADJ 200-4 is an analytical balance with a weighing range of 220 g and a readability of 0.0001 g (0.1 mg). It adjusts itself automatically with an internal weight. The weighing system uses force compensation. Kern describes the ADJ 200-4 as a flexible analytical balance for routine applications.

Automatic internal adjustment

The balance adjusts using the built-in weight as soon as it detects a temperature change of 2 °C since the last adjustment. It also adjusts after a selectable time interval of 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 hours; the factory setting is 2 hours. No external test weight is needed. Calibration by an accredited body is independent of this; a DAkkS calibration certificate has item no. 963-101.

Weighing range and measured values

Reproducibility 0.0002 g, linearity ± 0.0004 g, minimum weight according to USP 400 mg. The stabilisation time under laboratory conditions is 3 seconds, and the warm-up time is 8 hours. The tare range extends up to 220 g. With a weighing range of 220 g, heavy tare containers can also be used into which small sample quantities are weighed. The display has backlit digits 16 mm high, and the balance is operated using six keys. The weighing units available are percentage (%), carat, gram, pound, ounce and piece (PCS); in carat, up to 1,100 ct with a reading of 0.0005 ct. The minimum piece weight is 10 mg, or 1 mg under laboratory conditions, and the counting resolution is 220,000.

Glass draught shield and installation

A glass draught shield with three sliding doors is part of the standard equipment. The weighing chamber measures 170 x 160 x 205 mm, and the stainless steel weighing pan has a diameter of 90 mm. The housing, made of cast aluminium and plastic, measures 230 x 310 x 330 mm. A spirit level and adjustable screw feet are provided for levelling. The permissible conditions are 10 °C to 30 °C and 20 % to 85 % humidity.

Interface and accessories

RS-232 is fitted as standard and transmits measured values to a printer or PC. The power supply operates at 100 to 265 V and 50/60 Hz and is supplied with mains adaptors for the EU, the UK and the USA. We can advise you on request about interface cables, converters, printers, an anti-vibration table, anti-vibration plates and ionisers against electrostatic charge.

Typical applications

  • Weighing in the tenth-of-a-milligram range up to 220 g
  • Weighing with an automatically adjusted balance at changing locations in the laboratory
  • Percentage weighing and piece counting via the weighing units
  • Weighing in carats up to 1,100 ct
  • Measured value output via RS-232 to a printer or PC

The Kern ADB 200-4 (item no. lt-7013), with external adjustment and otherwise identical data, is also available.
