The Kern CPE 6K-3 counts small parts weighing from 2 grams upwards, with a weighing range of up to 6 kilograms and a readability of 0.2 grams. Screws, seals and other small parts are weighed rather than counted by hand; the counting resolution is 30,000 steps. The compact scale is battery-operated and can therefore be used at different workstations in the warehouse or on the production floor.
Three displays and minimum piece weight: 2 grams
Three separate displays show weight, reference weight and piece count simultaneously, supplemented by a totalisation function. Under normal conditions, the minimum countable piece weight is 2 grams. Reproducibility and linearity are 0.2 grams and ± 0.6 grams respectively; the stainless steel weighing pan measures 230 x 300 millimetres. This makes the balance suitable for smaller components such as screws, nuts or packaging accessories, where a reference weight that is too coarse would distort the counting accuracy.
External adjustment
The CPE 6K-3 is adjusted externally at a selectable adjustment point of 2, 4 or 6 kilograms. Kern specifies 5-kilogram and 1-kilogram adjustment weights of accuracy class F2.
Tolerance weighing with audible and visual signals
In addition to simple counting, the CPE 6K-3 also performs tolerance weighing. If the weight falls outside a specified tolerance range, the device signals this with an audible and visual alert. For incoming inspection or final inspection prior to dispatch, this allows you to check at a glance whether a batch is complete or whether a package has been filled correctly.
Display, interface and operation
The LCD display shows values with 20-millimetre-high digits, which are easy to read even from a distance. A printer for weighing records can be connected via the RS-232 interface. The housing is made of plastic, whilst the weighing pan is made of stainless steel. Battery operation means the scale does not need to be near a fixed power socket. It operates at ambient temperatures of 0 to 40 °C; according to the manufacturer, the device contains no substances prohibited under REACH.
