Product information "Kern CPB 6K0.1N Counting Balance, 6 kg / 0.1 g, Stainless Steel Platform 295 x 225 mm"
The Kern CPB 6K0.1N counts items weighing from 1 g and weighs up to 6 kg. With a readability of 0.1 g, it is the most precise of the three CPB counting scales, which have weighing ranges of 6, 15 and 30 kg. The stainless steel weighing plate measures 295 x 225 mm, and the load cell is IP65-rated.
Counting small parts
The balance calculates the total number of pieces based on the weight of a reference part. The reference weight is entered via the keypad, or the desired reference quantity is placed on the balance. Automatic reference optimisation gradually improves the average part weight. The minimum part weight is 1 g; under laboratory conditions, this is 100 mg. The counting resolution is 60,000.
Three displays at a glance
Three displays with 20 mm high digits show weight, reference weight and total count simultaneously, without the need to switch between them. The count total memory adds identical counted items to the total count and total weight. If you only wish to weigh, you can switch from counting mode to weighing mode at the touch of a button; the balance then functions as a standard platform balance with a 6 kg weighing range.
Target values and containers
The ‘Fill-to-target’ function allows you to programme a target quantity or target weight; an audible signal indicates when the target has been reached. PRE-TARE manually subtracts a known container weight in advance, which is useful for checking fill quantities. A tare tray (RFS-A02) is available as an accessory.
Measurement values and design
Repeatability of 0.2 g and linearity of ± 0.4 g apply with a stabilisation time of 2 seconds under laboratory conditions. The weighing system uses strain gauges; the balance should be allowed to warm up for 120 minutes before the first weighing. Calibration is carried out externally; 5 kg and 1 kg of Class F2 weights are recommended, totalling 6 kg. DAkkS calibration can be ordered under item no. 963-128.
Power supply and data output
The balance is powered by a mains adaptor operating at 100 to 240 V and 50/60 Hz; an internal rechargeable battery (GAB-A04) is optional. With the backlight switched off, Kern specifies 90 hours of operating time; the charging time is 12 hours. The RS-232 interface is fitted as standard. Kern supplies the CFS-A01 interface cable (1.5 m), converters for USB (AFH 13), Ethernet (YKI-10, YKI-11) and Wi-Fi (YKI-12) converters, the YKI-02 Bluetooth adapter, and the YKG-01, YKH-01, YKC-01 and YKT-01 printers.
Typical applications
Kern recommends the counting scales for annual stock-taking and for use across multiple sites such as production, warehouse and dispatch. The technical specifications of the 6K0.1N make it suitable for the following tasks:
- Inventory of small parts up to a total weight of 6 kg
- Picking to target quantity with an audible signal
- Fill level checking with container tare weight deducted
- Counting of light parts weighing from 1 g per piece
- Standard weighing up to 6 kg in weighing mode
For higher total weights, the Kern CPB 15K0.2N (15 kg) and the Kern CPB 30K0.5N (30 kg) are available, both on the same platform. The Kern CXB 30K2 is also available with a 30 kg weighing range and 2 g readability.
Frequently asked questions
How light can a single item be? The minimum item weight is 1 g; under laboratory conditions, it is 100 mg.
Can the balance also weigh normally? Yes; it switches from counting mode to weighing mode at the touch of a button.
Does it work without a mains power supply? With the optional GAB-A04 internal rechargeable battery. Kern specifies 90 hours’ operating time with the backlight switched off.
Which interface is built in? RS-232 as standard. Converters and adapters are available for USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
