Product information "Kern OZM 933 stereo microscope set, trinocular, double arm with base plate, zoom 0.7x to 4.5x, LED ring light"
The Kern OZM 933 combines a trinocular zoom head with a ball-bearing double arm and a base plate. The third tube output takes a camera, so findings can be saved as images. The set also includes a holder, a 4.5 W LED ring light and a dust cover.
Stereo microscope set with camera output
The head is trinocular, inclined at 45° and rotates through 360°. The data sheet specifies the beam splitter ratio as 0:100. A C-Mount adapter is required for a camera; this is not included in the scope of delivery. According to Kern, suitable adapters include those with 0.3x, 0.5x and 1x magnification, as well as the ODC 825, 832, 852 and 854 microscope cameras. According to Kern, the ODC 241 tablet camera is not compatible with the OZM-9 series.
Optics: Zoom 0.7x to 4.5x
The Greenough system offers a continuously variable zoom range from 0.7x to 4.5x (6.4:1). With HSWF-10x eyepieces, this results in a magnification range of 7x to 45x. The working distance is 110 mm; objects may be up to 130 mm high. Interpupillary distance 52 to 76 mm; dioptre adjustment on both sides from minus 6 to plus 6.
Double arm, ring light and weight
The ball-bearing double arm sits on a base plate. The mounting diameter on the universal stand is 37 mm; the head mount is 76 mm. The set weighs approx. 28 kg net and approx. 32 kg gross. The ring light operates in incident light, is dimmable and has a power rating of 4.5 W. The power supply is built-in. The OZM 932 is the same set but with a binocular head. Anyone who wants incident and transmitted light should look at the trinocular OZL 466.
An overview of the sets
The OZM 933 is the trinocular set with double arm and base plate. The OZM 932 is the same set with a binocular head. The OZM 952 is available without a camera output and with a clamp, whilst the OZM 953 and OZM 983 come with a camera output and clamp. The OZM 913 features a telescopic arm with a base plate.
Typical applications
Kern lists the following main areas of application for the OZM 9 series:
- In vitro fertilisation
- Detection of parasites
- Zoology and botany
- Tissue preparation and dissection
- Quality control
- LCD/LED electronics and semiconductor technology
- Assembly and repair
In the detection of parasites or in dissection during practical courses, a find is photographed before the specimen is altered. In quality control, the photo goes to the inspection report.
Regulatory information
As an electrical device, the microscope falls under the ElektroG. The manufacturer Kern & Sohn GmbH is registered under the WEEE registration number DE 80821200. How to return old appliances is described on the page Environment and disposal.
