Beverage shops, large petrol station shops or busy retail outlets with a wide range of frozen goods quickly reach their limits with a small chest freezer: not enough space for the full range of products, constant rearranging because new stock cannot be accommodated, and customers who cannot find the exact flavour they are looking for. The Liebherr EFE 5100 is the largest chest freezer in the EFE series – an ice-cream chest freezer with static cooling, a net capacity of 449 litres and a width of 167.5 cm.

449 litres for a wide range of products

With a net capacity of 449 litres (503 litres gross), the EFE 5100 offers significantly more capacity than the smaller models in the range – almost double that of the mid-range EFE 3000 and more than three times that of the compact EFE 1500. With an interior measuring 58.5 x 155.0 x 53.5 cm, a wide variety of ice-cream flavours, snacks and convenience products can be arranged clearly and simultaneously, without goods disappearing into the back of the chest or becoming impossible to find.

A complete overview across a large area

The aluminium sliding lid opens up the entire interior in a single movement, ensuring that even with a chest of this size, the full range remains visible at a glance. This is particularly important with such a wide interior, so that customers do not have to search but can see straight away what is available. With high customer footfall and long queues, this noticeably reduces waiting times at the point of sale.

More power for greater capacity

The rated current is 2.5 A, higher than for the smaller EFE models, but this is to be expected given the significantly larger cooling surface area. Energy consumption of 1.902 kWh per 24 hours is proportional to the chest’s size; when calculated per litre of net capacity, the EFE 5100 remains in line with the rest of the range. The R 290 refrigerant requires a charge of just 70 g; as with the smaller models, the temperature range extends from -10 °C to -24 °C.

Designed for continuous operation

With a net weight of 67.2 kg and a robust steel construction, the EFE 5100 is designed for continuous operation in high-traffic locations. Defrosting is carried out manually; a lock can be retrofitted mechanically if required – a sensible option for a chest freezer that is often freely accessible in a large sales area and is kept open and restocked continuously for many hours a day.

Site planning

With a width of 167.5 cm and a depth of 66 cm, the EFE 5100 requires significantly more floor space than the smaller models in the range. Before purchasing, it is therefore worth taking a close look at the available space and delivery routes; the packaging dimensions are 168.4 x 68.3 x 85.4 cm, with a gross weight of 72.5 kg.

One chest instead of several smaller units

In locations that would otherwise have to use two or three smaller chests, the EFE 5100 covers the same product range with a single unit. This not only saves floor space compared with several individual chests, but also reduces maintenance requirements, as only one compressor and one lid system are in use instead of several separate units, each with its own technology and subject to its own wear and tear.
