The Liebherr HMFvh 5501 is a large-capacity pharmaceutical refrigerator which, with a net capacity of 588 litres, has been designed to meet the high storage requirements of hospital pharmacies, supply centres and large laboratories. It fully complies with the stringent requirements of DIN 13277 (formerly DIN 58345) and ensures the safe and stable storage of temperature-sensitive medicines and vaccines.

Maximum temperature stability in accordance with DIN 13277

This model meets all the criteria of the standard for safe medicine storage. The powerful dynamic cooling system (forced air circulation), in conjunction with the precise electronic control system, ensures maximum temperature stability and a highly uniform temperature distribution throughout the entire, spacious interior. The operating temperature range of +3 °C to +8 °C is reliably maintained.

Comprehensive alarm and safety system

To ensure seamless monitoring, the HMFvh 5501 is equipped with a comprehensive alarm system. It provides visual and audible warnings in the event of temperature deviations (either above or below the set point) as well as when the door is left open. An integrated data logger (min/max memory) records the minimum and maximum internal temperatures since the last reset, enabling easy temperature monitoring.

Integrated safety thermostat to prevent frost

A key feature of DIN 13277 is protection against sub-zero temperatures. The HMFvh 5501 features an additional safety thermostat that actively prevents the temperature from falling below +2 °C. Even in the unlikely event of a control system fault, this prevents vaccines or medicines from freezing.

Connectivity and Maximum Capacity

For integration into central monitoring systems (BMS/GLP/GMP), the unit is fitted as standard with an RS 485 interface and a potential-free contact for alarm signalling. The 588-litre interior is fitted with ten heavy-duty, plastic-coated shelves (up to 45 kg). The self-closing solid steel door features a robust lock to prevent unauthorised access.
