Product information "Liebherr SFTsg 1501 Laboratory Tabletop Freezer with Drawers, Static Cooling, 71 l, 091654651"
Anyone in the laboratory who wants to separate samples by substance type in the smallest possible space will find, in version 740 of the Liebherr SFTsg 1501, a variant with three additional drawers instead of shelves only. Unlike with the larger SFFfg/SFFsg models, the net volume does not decrease but actually increases slightly from 69 to 71 litres. The gross volume of 101 litres remains unchanged; from the outside, the drawer version is indistinguishable from the standard variant.
Three drawers for structured sample separation
Instead of three open shelves, the freezer compartment features two shelves and three plastic drawers. For laboratories that need to store different samples or batches neatly separated from one another, even in confined spaces, this offers a practical advantage over purely open shelves, where sample containers are more likely to become mixed up. In the SFTsg 1501, the number of shelves drops from three to two, whereas it remains unchanged in the larger SFFfg/SFFsg models due to the drawers.
Technology and cooling capacity
Cooling is static, and the temperature can be set within the range of -9 °C to -30 °C, identical to the standard model. In the event of faults, the unit issues visual and audible warnings; via a retrofittable Wi-Fi/LAN interface, the benchtop freezer can be integrated into an existing laboratory network if required, to enable centralised documentation of temperature trends.
Certification and cleanroom class
Certification according to IEC 60068-3, IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-011 and IEC 61326-1 applies to the drawer version of the SFTsg 1501 unchanged from the standard version, as do cleanroom class ISO 7 according to ISO EN 14644-1 and GMP class B, documented in the product data sheet.
Compact benchtop unit instead of a floor-standing unit
Even in the drawer version, the SFTsg 1501, with a height of 81.9 cm, remains significantly more compact than the floor-standing units SFFfg 4001 and SFFsg 4001 from our range. For laboratories requiring both a structured compartment layout and a space-saving installation in a confined space, this version combines both advantages without the need to purchase a larger floor-standing unit with a correspondingly higher net volume.
Ease of use and installation
The antimicrobial handle with integrated opening mechanism makes operation easier, even when wearing gloves. With external dimensions of 81.9 x 59.7 x 60.5 cm (H x W x D), identical to the standard version, and a net weight of 39.00 kg, the drawer version can also be placed on a worktop or in a corner of a laboratory with limited space, without having to reserve a dedicated floor area at room height. Defrosting is manual.
Durability and energy efficiency
With an energy consumption of 156 kWh per year, the drawer version, according to the product data sheet, is even below the consumption of the standard version at 180 kWh per year, an advantage that becomes noticeable over the course of the unit’s service life. The robust housing and sturdy construction are designed for continuous operation in the laboratory, regardless of the compartment layout, a plus especially in smaller laboratories, where a single unit is often in use round the clock.
Manufacture
The drawer version of the SFTsg 1501 is also manufactured at the Liebherr plant in Lienz.
Typical applications
The version with drawers is particularly suitable for smaller laboratories and ancillary rooms which, despite limited space, require organised deep-freeze storage separated by substance class or project, for example where several working groups use the same compact unit.
- Smaller laboratories needing orderly compartment separation in a compact space
- Several working groups or projects with separate sample storage in the same unit
- Supplementary, organised deep-freeze storage alongside a larger floor-standing freezer
- Laboratories that value lower energy consumption compared to the standard model
