The Liebherr SRFfg 5501 is a freestanding laboratory refrigerator with a net capacity of 441 l and an ignition-source-free interior for the safe handling of sensitive chemicals.

Explosion-proof interior in accordance with the ATEX Directive

The interior of the SRFfg 5501 is designed to be free from ignition sources and, according to the manufacturer, complies with, amongst other things, EU Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX), specifically developed for the storage of explosive and highly flammable substances. The unit is certified in accordance with the general laboratory standards series IEC 60068-3, IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-011 and IEC 61326-1.

Dynamic forced-air cooling for large volumes

With a net volume of 441 l and a gross capacity of 558 l, the dynamic forced-air cooling system ensures even temperature distribution throughout the entire interior (internal dimensions 146.0 x 60.0 x 53.7 cm). The temperature range extends from +3 °C to +16 °C, and defrosting takes place automatically. When the door is open, the unit is 79.2 cm wide, providing sufficient access even when the interior is full. The housing and door are made of robust steel, designed for continuous operation in laboratory and industrial environments.

Interior fittings for continuous operation

The interior features 6 glass shelves, each with a load capacity of 40 kg, sufficient for larger quantities of sample material or reagents. The antimicrobial handle with an opening mechanism facilitates day-to-day operation; the door can be mechanically locked and is reversible to open either to the right or left. A Wi-Fi/LAN interface can be retrofitted if required. The 3,000 mm long power cable provides sufficient reach to the nearest socket when the unit is installed in the room, without the need for an extension lead.
