Sample preparation in chromatography requires reliable syringe-tip filters that retain particles without altering the sample. The CHROMAFIL Xtra RC syringe-tip filter from Macherey-Nagel uses regenerated cellulose as the membrane material and is therefore suitable for aqueous and organic-aqueous, polar to moderately polar sample solutions.
Hydrophilic RC membrane with low protein binding
The hydrophilic RC membrane has a low protein binding capacity (84 µg/25 mm) and is therefore suitable for sensitive samples. The effective filtration area is 1.9 cm² with an effective membrane diameter of 15.6 mm; the dead volume is just 30 µL. Recommended for particles < 3 µm; suitable for GC and SFC.
Labelled for method validation and certification
Unlike colour-coded versions, this filter is labelled – useful for documentation in validated methods and for certification purposes. The housing is made of polypropylene (PP); the inlet is a Luer-Lock connector (top) and the outlet is a Luer tip (bottom). All CHROMAFIL filters are autoclavable (121 °C, 1.1 bar, 30 min).
Application
Recommended sample volume 1–5 mL. Non-sterile. Store at 15–25 °C.
