Test strips are quick and easy to use – but visual interpretation remains subjective. The QUANTOFIX Relax from Macherey-Nagel solves precisely this problem: it objectively analyses standard QUANTOFIX and pH-Fix test strips using a reflectometer, thereby combining the simplicity of the test strip method with the reliability of instrumental analysis.
Objective analysis without special strips
The QUANTOFIX Relax does not require specialised strips, but reads standard pH-Fix and QUANTOFIX test strips. As a microprocessor-controlled reflectometer, it features self-testing and auto-calibration – calibration takes place automatically and independently, without the need for manual adjustment. Up to 50 strips per hour can be analysed.
Operation & Documentation
Operation is via an LCD display with a touchscreen and alphanumeric input. Results can be printed directly via the integrated thermal printer or processed further via the RS232, USB B (host) and PS/2 (for keyboard or barcode scanner) interfaces. The internal memory holds 200 measurements; software updates are available free of charge via the internet/PC.
Compact & versatile
Measuring 200 x 160 x 75 mm and weighing just 0.71 kg, the device is equally suited to mobile use in the field and to a fixed laboratory workstation. It is powered by 100–240 V AC, or optionally by 6 AA batteries – handy for use without a mains connection.
