According to the manufacturer, the VISOCOLOR Fish reagent case with PF-3 Fish from Macherey-Nagel is developed for the advanced analysis of fishing waters. It contains the PF-3 Fish compact photometer, reagents and accessories for 14 water parameters. Test strips give quick results by dipping and reading, and the ECO reagents are intended for photometric determination.
Tests included
The 14 parameters are covered by four methods: test strips (chloride, total hardness, carbonate hardness, pH), titration (alkalinity), colour disc (phosphate) and photometric determination with the PF-3 Fish. Phosphate and pH are represented twice, phosphate visually and photometrically, pH as a test strip and photometrically.

PF-3 Fish compact photometer
The PF-3 Fish measures at three LED wavelengths (450, 530 and 660 nm) in round cuvettes with 16 mm outer diameter. The cuvette slot is open; according to the manual, the instrument is insensitive to extraneous light. It stores 50 measured values with date and time, transfers them via mini-USB and runs on three AA batteries or via USB. The housing is dust-tight and waterproof to IP68 (test conditions according to the manual: 1 m water depth, 1 hour). The manufacturer recommends calibrating the instrument with the calibration cuvette at least once a year.
According to the brochure, the oxygen test has a shelf life of 1 year, the silicic acid test and the photometric phosphate test 3 years.
