Memmert IPP110eco Peltier-cooled incubator, 108 L, SingleDISPLAY, 0 to 70 °C

When an entire series of experiments or several batches of samples need to be stored at low temperatures or incubated simultaneously, a small refrigerated incubator quickly reaches its limits: with an internal volume of 108 litres, the Memmert IPP110eco Peltier refrigerated incubator is the largest model in Memmert’s Peltier refrigerated incubator range. It maintains samples and cultures at temperatures ranging from 0 to +70 degrees Celsius, including well below room temperature, and thus offers sufficient capacity for larger sample batches or several parallel test series.

Peltier cooling for the large interior

A Peltier element integrated into the rear wall handles both cooling and heating and covers the entire setpoint temperature range from 0 to +70 degrees Celsius with a setpoint accuracy of 0.1 degrees Celsius. A Pt100 sensor of DIN Class A quality, measured using the 4-wire method, provides the control signal, whilst a Peltier recirculation fan ensures uniform temperature distribution throughout the large interior. Without lighting, the operating temperature range extends to at least 20 degrees Celsius below room temperature; with the light switched on, it ranges from plus 10 to plus 40 degrees Celsius – a feature not specified separately in this form for smaller models in the series.

SingleDISPLAY: all values at a glance

The ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY displays the actual and setpoint temperatures on a TFT colour graphic display. The log data from the internal data logger can be read out and managed via the Ethernet interface; a time-limited trial version of the AtmoCONTROL software is available for download. Those requiring full programming functionality, including a USB port and the supplied software without the need for a separate licence, will find this in the TwinDISPLAY variant IPP110ecoplus.

Safety, door and interior

In addition to the electronic temperature control, a mechanical temperature limiter also monitors operation, ensuring that a second, independent safety level remains active even in the event of a fault in the electronic control system. The fully insulated stainless steel door, with a two-point locking mechanism and an inner glass door, allows visual inspection of the interior without having to open the outer door and disturb the internal temperature. The generously sized interior accommodates up to 5 shelves with a total load capacity of 150 kilograms, up to a maximum of 20 kilograms per shelf. The standard specification already includes 2 electropolished stainless steel wire shelves – more than in the smaller IPP30 and IPP55 models – meaning the interior can be used immediately after installation without the need for additional orders.

Dimensions and capacity

The internal dimensions of 560 × 480 × 400 millimetres (depth reduced by 32 millimetres due to the built-in fan) and the external dimensions of 745 × 864 × 555 millimetres make the IPP110eco the largest model in the series, well ahead of the mid-range IPP55 model with its 53-litre internal volume. The connected load is around 320 watts (230 V or 115 V, 50/60 Hz), the net weight is approximately 63 kilograms, and the gross weight, including packaging, is around 86 kilograms. The packaging dimensions are 830 × 1050 × 800 millimetres, which must be taken into account during delivery and when planning the installation in the laboratory.

Data logging for documentation and quality assurance

Via the Ethernet interface, the internal data logger continuously records the temperature history, enabling cooling incubations to be traced and documented retrospectively, for example for internal quality assurance records or laboratory accreditations. The AtmoCONTROL software is available for download as a time-limited trial version for reading and managing the log data; for permanent, licence-free use, including full remote programming via Ethernet and USB, Memmert offers the IPP110ecoplus, a TwinDISPLAY variant that comes with AtmoCONTROL included. Seamless logging is particularly important for a unit of this size, which frequently manages several test series simultaneously.
