The Nabertherm muffle furnace LT 9/14 is the lift door version of the 9 litre size up to 1,400 °C, with a flap door the same volume is called L 9/14. At 9 litres volume and Tmax 1,400 °C, the heating elements sit on support tubes on two sides of the furnace chamber, insulation is exclusively with material without classification under the CLP Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008.
Lift door and space requirement
The lift door opens vertically upwards and requires an additional 350 mm of clearance above the housing. Inside, the usable space measures 250 x 250 x 170 mm (W x D x H), externally the LT 9/14 measures 530 x 525 x 630 mm, the weight is 55 kg. Those who want to install the furnace under an extraction hood or in a low fume cupboard should plan for the 350 mm of lift travel in advance. The housing is double walled, made of textured stainless steel sheet, the heating elements on support tubes are designed for free heat radiation and a long service life.
Insulation and air inlet
The insulation consists exclusively of materials without classification under the CLP Regulation. An adjustable air inlet opening sits in the door, the exhaust air escapes via an opening in the rear wall. The furnace runs single phase with a connected load of 3.5 kW and reaches Tmax minus 100 K, that is 1,300 °C, in around 50 minutes when empty and closed.
Controller B510
The touch controller B510 stores five programs of four segments each. This allows different temperature profiles for various sample types to be stored once and recalled repeatedly afterwards, without entering the values again each time.
Temperature uniformity
According to DIN 17052-1, the temperature uniformity in the empty usable space with the air inlet slide closed and a working temperature above 800 °C is ±5 K. An adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature can be ordered as a factory option.
Selection guide
If little space is available above the furnace in the laboratory, the flap door variant L 9/14 (article no. L-095K4AL) at the same volume and Tmax is the alternative, the additional 350 mm with the door open applies only to the lift door. If a final temperature of 1,300 °C is sufficient, the brick insulation series also offers a more compact lift door version with less usable volume in the LT 5/13.
Typical applications
The series is intended for use in laboratory and research. With Tmax 1,400 °C and 9 litres of usable volume, the LT 9/14 suits samples that need a higher final temperature than the 1,300 °C series. Those who prefer working with a lift door rather than a flap door get the same usable space and the same Tmax here as with the L 9/14.
