The Nabertherm vertical tube furnace RHTV 50/150/17 is the smallest size in the RHTV series and heats with suspended MoSi2 heating elements in the 1,700 °C temperature class. It accommodates working tubes up to 50 mm outer diameter, the heated length is 150 mm. It is controlled via the P570 touch controller in a switch cabinet separate from the furnace.
Construction and tube dimensions
The total length of the working tube is 380 mm, with single-zone heating, 30 mm of this has constant temperature. Without the tube fitted, the furnace measures 610 x 700 x 1,130 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 70 kg, the connection is three-phase at 5.8 kW. The two fibre plugs close the open ends of the ceramic working tube C 799.
Heating and insulation
The MoSi2 heating elements are suspended and easy to replace. The furnace is insulated with vacuum-formed ceramic fibre panels without aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibres). Standard equipment includes a type C 799 ceramic working tube with two fibre plugs for operation in air, a type B thermocouple measures the temperature. Nabertherm only offers a three-zone version with an additional neutral conductor for this series in the horizontal RHTH variant, the RHTV 50/150/17 remains single-zone heated.
Vertical operation and switch cabinet
Instead of a furnace chamber with a door, a stand holds the working tube in vertical operation. The switch cabinet with the P570 controller stands separately from the furnace in its own standing cabinet, standard equipment includes a power unit with low-voltage transformer and thyristor. An adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature supplements the over-temperature protection for furnace and charge.
Controller P570
The P570 touch controller stores up to 50 programs with 40 segments each, this also covers multi-stage temperature ramps with different holding times. For processes with direct temperature measurement at the charge, the furnace can be equipped as a factory option with a charge control that measures in the working tube instead of in the furnace chamber, alternative working tubes for other applications can also be ordered.

Anyone who needs larger samples or more charge volume will find the size with 120 mm tube outer diameter and 600 mm heated length at LT Laborhandel in the RHTV 120/600/17, see table below. The RHTV 50/150/17 is significantly lighter at 70 kg and 5.8 kW connected load than the RHTV 120/600/17 at 110 kg and 19.4 kW. For processes under protective gas or in a vacuum, gas supply packages and a vacuum package for evacuating the working tube are available for both sizes.
