The Rxi-17Sil MS 14120 has a length of 15 m, an inner diameter of 0.25 mm and a film thickness of 0.25 µm. It is a crosslinked phase of medium polarity for active environmental compounds such as PAHs and for use with sensitive detectors such as MS.
Properties of the phase
Rxi-17Sil MS has intermediate polarity. Its characteristics include high inertness, selectivity and low column bleed. The USP phase class is G3, and the tube material is fused silica.
For anyone coming from another manufacturer: Agilent DB-17ms, Phenomenex ZB-50 and Quadrex 007-17MS are considered comparable phases. Comparable part numbers are Agilent 122-4712 and CP8979 as well as Phenomenex 7EG-G004-11.
Temperature range
The range starts at 40 °C. The upper limit is 340 °C isothermal and 360 °C in a temperature program. The lower limit of 40 °C has to be taken into account when planning starting conditions. The limits are the same for 15 m and 30 m.
Reading the dimensions and temperature data
With 15 m length, 0.25 mm inner diameter and 0.25 µm film thickness, the film value refers to the layer of the phase on the tube wall. The phase is crosslinked, so its polymer chains are linked. The upper limit of 340 °C applies to a constant oven temperature, 360 °C to a run with a temperature program.

The Rxi-17Sil MS is available here in 15 m and in 30 m, both with 0.25 mm inner diameter and 0.25 µm film thickness. Retention times change with the length, so an existing method has to be re-checked.
