Product information "Sauter TI-DL manual Shore test stand for Shore D, 50 N, height 290 mm"
A handheld Shore hardness tester does not maintain the same angle and the same pressure every time. The Sauter TI manual test stands hold the hardness tester in a suspended position and press the measuring tip into the sample using a fixed test weight. According to Kern, the accuracy of the measurement result obtained with the TI-AC is approximately 25 % higher than that of a manual measurement. The series has six models for Shore A (10 N) and Shore D (50 N), with glass plate or steel plate, each with its own assignment to the Sauter hardness testers.
Operation
The hardness tester is mounted in a suspended position on the test stand. The test object rests on the round test table directly beneath the measuring tip. When the lever is pressed down, the test stand releases the test weight, which the measuring tip presses into the test object with the test force (10 N for Shore A, 50 N for Shore D). The hardness tester is not included in the scope of delivery.
Glass plate or steel plate
According to Kern, the TI-AC, TI-ACL, TI-D and TI-DL have a glass base plate that is harder than the test object and therefore contributes to high measurement accuracy. The TI-HEA and TI-HED feature a steel plate with levelling. Both designs can be aligned with a levelling device, which helps with inhomogeneous test objects. With the TI-HEA and TI-HED, the test table is aligned using two screw mechanisms beneath the hardness tester.
Which test stand for which hardness tester
The TI-AC is compatible with the analogue HB0 100-0 (Shore A0) and HBA 100-0 (Shore A), whilst the TI-D is compatible with the analogue HBD 100-0 (Shore D). The TI-ACL and TI-DL accommodate test objects up to 290 mm in height. The TI-ACL is the test stand for the digital HDA 100-1 (Shore A), whilst the TI-DL has a longer, interchangeable guide column for the digital HDD 100-1. The TI-HEA and TI-HED belong to the devices HEA 100 and HED 100. According to Kern, the TI-HE additional weight on the TI-HEA also allows Shore D testing; see Accessories.
Typical applications
- Plastics engineering: reproducible Shore hardness testing on plastics and leather
- Medical technology: hardness testing of elastomer components with a fixed contact pressure
- Automotive industry: testing of seals and rubber components under repeatable measurement conditions
- Packaging industry: hardness comparison of plastics and sealing materials
- Food industry: hardness testing of seals and plastic components
Those who compare Shore values in a series put the device on the test stand so that angle and contact force stay constant. The test force of the test stand (10 N or 50 N) must correspond to the Shore scale of the hardness tester.
