The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 31 is an ultrasonic bath for small parts and small quantities of liquid. The stainless steel tank measures 190 x 85 x 60 mm internally and has a capacity of 0.9 l. Externally, the unit measures 205 x 100 x 180 mm and weighs 2.3 kg.
Tank and installation
It can be filled up to a working capacity of 0.6 l; a fill-level mark is provided. The tank (0.8 mm) and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel. The unit has neither handles nor a drain; the power cable is permanently attached and is 2 m long. The protection rating is IP 33, and the permissible ambient temperature is 5 to 40 °C.
Ultrasound with one vibration system
A vibration system generates a peak power of 160 watts at 35 kHz; the nominal power is 40 watts. The fully automatic SweepTec function is designed to prevent standing waves in the ultrasonic field; a pulse function is also available. The DT 31 does not have a degassing function (DEGAS). This is available on the DT 52, which has a tank capacity of 1.8 l.
Button controls
The buttons are wipeable, and the display shows the remaining cleaning time. Settings include 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes with a tolerance of ±5 %, or continuous operation. The appliance switches itself off twelve hours after the last button press. It does not have a built-in heater. The DT 31 H model, which has the same tank, heats to a fixed temperature of 65 °C.
Accessories for small tanks
The DT 31 is compatible with the K 08 insert basket (170 x 65 x 50 mm, mesh size 4 x 4 mm, load capacity up to 1 kg), the D 08 lid and the DE 08 perforated lid for two insert cups. The insert cups are available as 0.4-litre glass beakers (SD 04), 0.4-litre plastic beakers (KB 04) and 0.6-litre glass beakers (SD 05). The FT 1 film test frame with FL 4 film cut-outs is used to test the bath.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DT 31 have a degassing function?
No. It features SweepTec and a pulse function; the DEGAS function is only available on larger models such as the DT 52.
Can the bath be heated?
The DT 31 does not have a heating function. The DT 31 H heats to a fixed temperature of 65 °C; there is no adjustable temperature setting on this model.
How is the bath emptied?
The unit has no drain.
Are there other plug types available?
Yes, Bandelin offers variants with UK, Swiss and US plugs under separate order numbers, such as 3200-GB. The model offered here is the 3200 with a CEE 7/7 EU plug for 230 V.
